Asjah was born in Madrid, Spain to American parents. She took an interest in Middle Eastern culture when she was 12. She traveled to Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait in her late teens. Asjah enjoyed the experience so much when she returned to the U.S. she continued her studies. She moved to Austin in 2004 and started learning the art of belly dance from Z-Helen. Since 2005, Asjah has been an influential dancer in the Austin area. She has appeared in shows for Desert Passion, Midnight Breeze, Ararat Fundraisers, Mirage Shows to name a few. Asjah completed her degree in Middle Eastern Studies at Texas State University in December 2008.
