As Cynthia says... There's not a cloud in the sky!!!

About Me

In a bulletin that was posted to describe Vera in one word, the ones that were most used by family and friends who know me best were: "fun, crazy, sentimental, loyal". For the most part, I agree. I believe that these words would also have been used to describe my Mother, and there were a lot of years where I denied vehemently any character similarities. Those were back in the days were I did not fully see and appreciate the wonderful woman she was. Six years after her passing, I can now appreciate what a great compliment it is to be described in the same WONDERFUL ways that she was!! Not perfect, by any means, but there is nobody who can make you feel as special or loved as a Mom. My greatest wish is to be seen in the same light.

Music:

For the past several years, my favorite music was anything Jimmy Buffett and all the tribute bands. I still love the Boat Drunks and PHINS cause they always rock the house and make me feel like one of their favorite groupies, but at $130 a ticket, I just can't seem to feel the whole "Parrothead" thing anymore. So, I've been broadening my horizons and listening to a LOT of new and different music lately and found some new favorites: Slaid Cleaves (Wishbones is my current song by him), Ben Bedford,(a local amazing new talent!!)Ray LaMontagne,56 Hope Road (another group originally from Springfield.. check out the song!!), the Mud Bugs, Bill Laymon, PS... and check out this video song from Patty Griffin...tells a story about my life for the last year!

Movies:

Here's the sappy, sentimental side coming out. "Steel Magnolias", "Terms of Endearment", "Ordinary People" "With Honors" then the funny raunchy side "40 Year Old Virgin" "Wedding Crashers" "American Pie"... NEVER anything scary!!!!!!!!

Television:

"Grey's Anatomy", "Desperate Housewives", more reality to which I want to admit..!!! (I'm saw the American Idol tour last year if that tells you anything!!!)

Books:

Mitch Albom's books, "Just One More Day","Five People You Meet in Heaven", and "Tuesdays with Morie", "The Notebook" (almost everything by Nicholas Sparks!)"

Heroes:

My mom, for the message "I think I can" , Kellie and Kristen for always knowing when they need to make me laugh, and Dan, for making "Feels Like Home" really feel like it no matter WHERE we are!!! Also, Jeremy and Andy for giving me a place in their lives and hearts and for their sweet forgiveness for any pain that I totally unintentionally caused them by meeting and falling so helplessly/hopelessly in love with their amazing Dad. If I have nothing else, with these heroes in my life, I am more blessed than I could ever have prayed for!!!!!

My Blog

The story behind "In Spite of Ourselves" (my new song du jour)
