About Me

My name's Shannon. My hometown is Eagle River, Alaska. Being from Alaska has impacted my personality permanently, and I mean that in a good way. I can't wait till I get to go back.
I've been attending UAA in Alaska for three years, but am now attending Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California. It is among the top photography schools in the world. I love the life that I had in Alaska, but my desire to be an awesome photographer has forced me to make the tough decision to leave. I still feel like I am adjusting to this life and am taking it one day at a time to see where I will end up next.
I am obsessed with traveling. My parents are moving to Moscow soon, and I am excited to visit! I love a good adrenaline rush. In particular, I am completely in love with skydiving. Bungee also kicks ass. I also love the outdoors, nature, and anything to do with getting me out there in it. I love spending time with people, getting out, dancing, having fun. I love a good glass of wine and a hot bath. I am extremely social, yet can still be shy sometimes. Does that make any sense? At any rate, I ALWAYS would rather be with people than by myself. I love to experience new things, but I also cling to old things.

My Interests

I love to travel more than anything. It could be a beautiful beach resort, or a flea-infested 1 star Morrocan hotel. I'll still be happy. I'm falling more and more in love with photography all the time. I like adrenaline and the things that make my body produce it. I like to snowboard, skydive, raft, kayak, bungee, the works. I love nature, so I love doing things that get me to experience it at a more intimate level. I love hanging out with my boyfriend or friends. I am the kind of person that goes crazy if I have too much "alone time." So if you're my friend and you want to do something, I'll almost always be game.

I love books that have exciting stories to help with my short attention span.... like Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Treasure Island, hmmm... books that kids tend to like I guess. I don't sound very intellectual. To plead my case, I mostly have had to read text books for the past forever. So once I am out of school I can indulge myself in lots of books again. I also love coffee table type books and intsructional books on things like photography, cooking, home improvement, etc.

I just laid down in bed only to get bit on my bare ass by a spider. And it really hurts. And now I'm paranoid about spiders in my bed.
