About Me
My name is Micah McGuire and I am a good ol' Alaskan boy. My family moved to Eagle River, AK from New Mexico when I was 1 year old, and I've been here ever since. I grew up in Eagle River doing the usual Alaskan things; hiking, camping, fishing. I started snowboarding and rock climbing when I was in high school and started ice climbing when I was about 21.I graduated from Chugiak High School in 1999 and attended UAA for several years. I never really could figure out what I wanted to do, so I decided to become a paramedic. I currently work three jobs in the emergency medical field. First and foremost I am a flight paramedic with Aeromed International Critical Care Air Ambulance. It's sweet, keeps me seeing and doing new and exciting things, and pays the bills. Secondly, I work as an on-call paramedic for an interfacility intensive care transport company called Transcare; this is basic ambulance work. Third, I'm an on-call emergency room tech at the native hospital in Anchorage-starting IVs, drawing blood, and doing EKGs on people. It allows me to experience a pretty wide spectrum of EMS work.In 2001, I met a girl named Alexandra, hit it off quite nicely, and wound up getting married! Currently we've been married a little over three years. January of 2006 was a pretty big deal for us; we had our first child. On January 25, 2006 Alex gave birth to Nayeli Michelle McGuire, a beautiful baby girl. She is the apple of her daddy's eye. As I revise this, it is christmas eve 2007, and we are expecting another baby in July of '08. Wish us luck!!Well, that's pretty much the entire abreviated narrative of my life. Enjoy my space...on myspace. Har har...
