I am a multi instrumentalist/recording artist/performer who,over the past 15 years, played in numerous bands that all range in style. I got my start playing drums at 14 years old...however my love for drumming goes way before that when my mother bought me my very first Smurf drumset when I was 8. It wasnt until high school that I got really serious about starting a band. My junior year of high school in 93 I became the frontman/guitarist in a group called Yellow 5 that was highly influenced by such ska/punk bands as Rancid, Sublime, The Slackers, and The Toasters. Eventually Yellow 5 transformed into a band I played with for over 8 years called The Feed. It went from ska/punk to reggae/funk and eventually I got players in the band that came from a sort of traditional old school Grateful Dead influenced element of playing music which was cool, but not exactly where I was coming from, however...the contrast of their experience and my minimalist/simplistic psychedelic and spacey method of playing ended up mixing well and The Feed became a well established local phenomenon. Nothing stopped me from pursuing a long lasting recording project that my heart has always been into creating visual experimental ambient/avant garde dream pop music. This project became known as Darkwater, and after The Feed took a hiatus, I independantly released my first album titled "Songs For Homesick People Volume 1" in 2004. In the winter of 2005 a long time friend and musical collaborator, Neal Damato and I started a recording project that was heavy,thrashy,ambient, and experimental called Omega Vague. We released our first and only album in early 2006. Recording and creating was fun but I wanted to bring it to life. We decided to find a drummer and bassist to play some shows with us. It was during this time when I discovered a local industrial metal band called Circus Of Dead Squirrels. I remember hearing these guys for the first time and saying to myself "These guys are local?" Their sound was big and professional and the vocalist sounded like a crackhead monster. Ive always been a huge fan of such bands as Ministry and Nine Inch Nails. A few months went by and Circus Of Dead Squirrels name kept getting brought up by random people through conversation. I noticed on their my space they were looking for a drummer. I havent played drums in years but I thought this might be a good opportunity for me to get involved in something that was professional and serious. Ive been performing in Circus Of Dead Squirrels for almost 3 years now. I am still passionately active in Omega Vague and Darkwater as well. You can find links here on my top spot for all 3 projects.
