What can’t be said about Suga-T Aka: Tenina Stevens? She’s a distinguished and successful Rap Artist at the very least. Tenina Stevens, is an accomplished rapstress, songstress, songwriter, actress, producer, educator, businesswoman/CEO and the founder of “Sprinkle Me Fragrances.” All of her accomplishments are Due Praise. Suga-T started from humble beginnings as a teen mother who persevered through hard work, and worked diligently through two failed marriages, alcoholism, low self esteem, career challenges and life’s normal ups and downs into an established Hip Hop Brand. Everything She touches turns to Gold or Platinum…She can make something out of nothing and this has been continuously exposed during her tenure with the E-40 and “The Click” by showcasing her catchy phrases, writing numerous hooks which has become urban anthems such as “Sprinkle Me”, “ooh, ooh, ooh, I am a fool” and “I Mean, I Mean” This is why Suga-T is an urban legend, a female Don, and a true Hip-Hop Mom.
In the early years, Suga-T joined her family’s recording label “Sick Wid It Records” as one of four members of the group “The Click.” The group members include Suga’s brothers D-Shot, E-40 and cousin, B-Legit. . Initially, the group released a single entitled “Captain Save A Hoe” and “Billy Bad Ass” to the underground which established a loyal fan base. The group received a national underground following that enabled them to sale 250,000 units independently. Furthermore, this positioned Suga-T and “The Click” as highly respected musical figures with an enormous and loyal following; and a body of credits that has built her own individual following. She is also highly recognized nationally due to a joint-venture between “Jive Records” and “Sick Wid It Records.” Their group collectively sold over 10 million copies during their 7 years with “Jive Records.” Suga-T, then the little sister of “The Click,” became the big sister and now Godmother of Hip Hop. After 15 years in the Music and Entertainment Industry, Suga-T is still holding it down and heading Northern California’s female Hip Hop Movement. Moreover, as a savvy businesswoman, she has worked diligently in front of the camera and behind the scenes during her career and has utilized her popularity and position as a platform to create opportunities for herself and many others.
Suga-T and brother E-40 has accomplish what no other has, they are in the Guinness Book of Records for creating and releasing history’s biggest brother and sister Hip-Hop duet entitled “Sprinkle Me,” after 10 years it’s still in rotation on radio stations all over the world. She is a proven multi-talented entertainer that has also showcased her singing and vocal talents on the groups hit single “Hurricane,” selling over 500,000 units as well as soundtracks like, ‘Save the Last Dance, High School High, Fat Beach, Tales from the Hood, and a host of others. Suga-T has collaborated with artists like 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Roger Troutman of Zapp, Cee Cee Penniston, Benito, Yo Yo, Rappin’4Tay, Jake Steed, The Luniz, Master P and more. Suga-T recently released an inspirational album titled Be About It “The New Me,” as a way to give back a positive message to the community and has formed a New Group with Lady of Rage and Spinderella of Salt and Peppa, Titled “XXX Threat.”(Triple Threat) Suga-T has brought together this group of Hip Hop Moms to represent “the mothers of Hip Hop.”
Suga-T doesn’t only have credits in the music industry, but she is making successful contributions to the television world as she regular guest star on MTV’s Lyricist Lounge Show, co-star on the movie “Obstacles” produced by her brother D-Shot which regularly shows on BET, guest appearance on Brian Hook’s Malibooty and soon to be a feature Star in the movie she wrote about her life “Succeeding Against All Odds” from poverty to a Hip-Hop Mom.

She is continuing to work with her family group “The Click” and completing continuous solo projects.
