About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor - Image Hosting

Here I am - 31 (how did that happen?) and things are starting to go right in my life. FINALLY!!!!!!. I am a self proclaimed geek and am proud to be. I am MARRIED (to all the doubtful) to the beautiful Kristy Weatherspoon! I am working for Youth Villages (again) but as an in-home counselor this time! I do miss working with kids...a lot! Life is really great right now!

My Interests

I graduated college with a degree in Christian Education but do not use it like I thought that I would. I am a huge music and movie person. I love STAR TREK and most other well-written science fiction shows. Rebecca St. James is my all-time favorite singer and Audio Adrenaline is my favorite band. My brother and best friend have got me into the Nashville Predators so that is new (I like a sports team). My old roommate has gotten me back into video games and my love for Nintendo has re-emerged.

I'd like to meet:

Matt Groening and the vocal casts of "The Simpsons" and "Futurama". To have that much creativity after almost 20 years inspires me.There are several other heroes that I would like to meet which mainly include Contemporary Christian music singers.

Music:

Rebecca St. James has been my favorite singer for almost the past 10 years. I met her a few years ago with my friend Jill and she was awesome! She is also great in concert! Audio Adrenaline is my favorite band even though they are having to break up due to Mark's vocal problem. They will be missed greatly! The best cd that I bought last year was Jars of Clay's "Good Monsters." I highly recommend it! Other Christian artists that I like are Newsboys, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, ZoeGirl, Out of Eden, FFH, Sixpence None The Richer, Caedmon's Call, Jaci Velasquez, Point Of Grace, DC Talk, and 4Him.Pop and Rock artists that I like include Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne, Destiny's Child, Everclear, Alanis Morissette, Garbage, No Doubt (get back with the band Gwen!!!), and Will Smith. My favorite country artists include Martina McBride, George Strait, Shania Twain, Trisha Yearwood, Toby Keith, Darryl Worley, Alan Jackson, Sara Evans, and Gary Allen. And, I also appreciate the music of Jim Brickman, Russell Watson, Bond, Danny Elfman, John Williams, David Arnold, Jerry Goldsmith, Hans Zimmer, and James Horner.

Movies:

Doctor Zhivago (favorite of all time), Dances With Wolves, The Neverending Story, Aliens, The Princess Bride, All The STAR TREK and STAR WARS movies, Shaun of the Dead, The James Bond movies (especially On Her Majesty's Secret Service), The Shawshank Redemption, Babe, While You Were Sleeping, Comic Book movies (Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Hulk, DareDevil, Elektra, etc), all of the HARRY POTTER and THE LORD OF THE RINGS movies, Miracle on 34th Street, The Prince of Egypt, Serenity, Disney (Fantasia, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, etc.), It's A Wonderful Life, 13 Going on 30, Men In Black (Will Smith is one of my favorite entertainers), TIM BURTON RULES!, Clerks is the funniest movie of ALL time, Short Cuts, Indiana Jones, The Fifth Element, and so many more!SUPERMAN RETURNS is the best movie of 2006!

Television:

Alias, both Stargates, Veroncia Mars, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Doctor Who, Lost, Smallville, Farscape, 24, all STAR TREK, The X-Files, The Lone Gunmen, Millennium, Dark Angel, Batman: The Animated Series, Arrested Development, Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, Everybody Hates Chris, The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, Friends, My Name Is Earl, The King Of Queens, Lost In Space, all the CSI to certain degrees.I am now addicted to the US version of "The Office." Unless, I am sick, I do not miss it! Also, "Heroes" is the only new 2006 show that I am watching.I am on a Superman kick with Lois and Clark, The Adventures of Superman, Smallville, Superboy, Superman: The Animated Series, and Justice League and Superfriends.

Books:

A Christmas Carol - Charles Dickens, A Time To Kill - John Grisham, Rising Sun - Michael Crichton, The Chronicles of Narnia - C.S. Lewis, A Child Called 'It' - Dave Pelzer, Star Trek Deep Space Nine Companion, all the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, The Street Lawyer by John Grisham, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirly Jackson, and THE BIBLE

Heroes:

Heroes are hard to define for me. Two of my heroes are Rebecca St. James and Mark Stuart. They sing and live their lives for Jesus Christ and I have met them and see the light of Jesus shining through them. There are several friends that are heroes to me: Elizabeth, Louis, Matt, Crystal, Shane, Darian, etc. Each of these people (and more) have shown strengths in times that I have seen each go through struggles. And, of course, Superman is my favorite of all superheroes. He stands for morality by "fighting for truth, justice, and the American way" yet he struggles like us mere humans. He represents what each of us feels like: an outsider trying to find a way to be accepted. Every person has that time when he or she feels alone and alienated from others. And, of course, Kristy is my hero because she said YES!
