Hi. searching; science; systems; sanctimonious? no, not really.Six years in Portland, and counting. I love this town. I spend a lot of nights with friends: volleyball, games, and the perennial casual dinner parties (we rotate houses). I've been living alone for a few years. I think I'd prefer living in a house full of friendly people, but I enjoy the privacy of an apt and also being able to keep my space how I like it (i.e. reasonably clean, horizontal space). I have some houseplants around, most notably a Schefflera I've made several cuttings from, but their conversation is definitely lacking.I'm interested in meeting a nice girl to share laughs and kisses. Would be ideal if she were in North America, spoke English or at least a romance language, no pun intended, oh, and she gave me butterflies. Easier said than done, but if you're not proactive, who are you going to meet? Butterflies are more likely if you take care of your body. Sure, I'd prefer meeting you through a friend at a backyard BBQ, or at Powell's... Nicholas's.... But I'm here .. to widen my social circle, and meet people that I wouldn't otherwise know. Heh. I don't understand people who are seriously into astrology. Especially Scorpios and Libras.If I learned anything from traveling, it's that people spend a lot of time trying to carve a niche for themselves, trying to feel independent and self-justified in their uniqueness. That's fine, but it's good to remember that divisions of language/religion/race/height/sex/gender/age/orientation/dis ability etc. are pathetic next to what we have in common with each other, which might be the pursuit of safety, validation, happiness, and truth.Also, it doesn't show in this context, but I can be blustery, silly, boisterous and, um, even at a loss for words.
