Due to popular demand I shall explain the Straight Edge philosophy for all you flubtards. Followers of this life style abstain from tobacco, alcohol, and recreational drugs. In a nut shell we're clean. I have never taken an illegal drug in my entire life, and that is something I am damn proud of. I can't say the same about booze but I'm clean now and that's all that matters. Don't worry though, I'm no prude. I'm not going to bitch you out for lighting up. That shit just ain't for me.
I am an oddity, a hiccup in the human gene pool, and a walking contradiction. I am Moki and yes that is the best description of the one you see before you. Why? Because I am indescribable. Let me try and explain.
I hate school. I hate organized education in general. I was never a good student in high school and I'm not much better in college. Sure, I get the passing grade but I put little to no effort into the homework or extra assignments. Yet, I love to learn. I like to know things. When I watch TV it's usually a documentary of some type and when I do get interested in a subject I obsessively search libraries, bookstores, and the internet for the information I want. Even though my grades may not reflect my opinion I consider myself to be a pretty smart guy.
I love to read. I literally have thousands of books stacked up around my house. Whenever I'm on the internet I usually have a window open to amazon.com and when I'm in town you can usually spot me in Borders. I am always on the look out for the next good read. Yet, I won't touch the text books my professors assign. They are not only dull and opinionated but the professors cover the information during class sessions. I take a lot of notes and those notes are usually enough for me to pass the tests so, what's my motivation to spend $100+ on a text book? The only time I will put down money for a text book is for a language class since those are the only classes where the text is absolutely necessary.
I am a Christian. I'm down with the 'G-O-D' and Jesus is my homie. However, I hate some Christians and I disagree with some of the mainstream teachings. "I'm Christian and therefore better then you" and that is exactly how some of these 'Christians' think. I can not stand that elitism. We are suppose to be out there reppin' the golden gates not burning the bridge between us, the atheists, and other world religions. The single most cause of atheism in the world today is Christians. The world watches how we act, sees the elitist Christian Nazi's, and decided we aren't the crew for them. Many people have been offended by my use of the term Christian Nazi but I think the term is appropriate. No offense to any socialists out there but I associate Nazism with racial elitism and the persecution of minorities and homosexuals. How is this any different then some of these Christians? Sure, most of them have become accepting of racial minorities but they are still persecuting religious minorities and homosexuals. Why would a society that has evolved past these points of trivial hate conform to a variation of Christianity that is little better then a hate gang?
I am very opinionated about some things but most of the time I'll keep my mouth shut. People who know me exclusively from the internet will be surprised to know I'm actually a pretty quiet guy. I rarely speak up in class and I'm not the type of person who can walk up to a complete stranger and strike up a conversation. Now, this has never stopped people from randomly picking me to be their best friend for the day and yack my ears off but I'm just saying. If you've ever sat next to me in class and I didn't so much as glance in your direction. I wasn't being rude. That's just Moki for ya. Once you get to know me though all inhabitations go right out the door. You will be praying to go back to when we didn't know each other just so I will shut the hell up. I'm also quiet psychotic...Jackass...Viva La Bam...Ain't got nothin' on me.
I am a self proclaimed loaner yet somehow I have managed to collect quiet a number of friends. I am more then comfortable alone. If I don't have anyone to sit with it doesn't bother me to eat lunch by myself. However, people keep forcing their ways into my life. And let me tell you that is no easy task. I am a closed book but if you do manage to work your way into my life I am quiet a loyal friend...or as loyal as my antisocial misfit of society nature allows me to be.
I am a homebody if there ever was one. Sure, going out is fun but I don't mind spending a Friday night at home. Of course some people may associate this to where I live (there is absolutely nothing to do) but I am never bored when I'm at home. I have everything I need to remain sane in one building. So why leave? And yet another contradiction, I love to travel. I love to explore new places. I tend to enjoy the more rural naturalistic areas of the world or the type of place you'd find on weird travels but this has not stopped me from dubbing Las Vegas the greatest city on the planet.
When it comes to dating I have all but given up. Sure, I'll date now and then (in fact I had a really psycho one not too long ago) but I'm tired of these one month stands. I'm sick of short term relationships. Yes, I understand that is what most guys are looking for but I've had too much of that (not what you think you perverts). The next time I decide to make the leap it'll be for something I know will last. Other then that I'm cool just remaining friends with my female cohorts.
I told you. I'm an oddball. You've got to admit though. It is a combination of all of these whacked out qualities that make me Moki...and as we all know. Moki is awesome.
