I'd like to meet:
Someone who is willing to sing "Beth", by Kiss, at karaoke.
Music:
I think of myself as having broad music tastes, others may disaggree. I have been told that I hate any music made after 1993. This is partially true. My favorite music is classic rock; Journey, Styx, Bruce Springsteen, Janis Joplin. i aslo have a soft spot for Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, and Cat Stevens. My favorite karaoke songs happen to be Cher and the Boss. I have seen Eminem a few times in concert, so my tastes can't be pigeon-holed.
Movies:
I love movies, but I love movie trivia and quotes even more. You know it's bad when you say something clever, and people say "what is that from". Thats when you know that you quote too much. My favorite quotes come from movie classics. That doesn't mean TRUE classics... my classics are Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, So I married an axe murderer, Zoolander, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, etc. I am also a sucker for awesomely bad Sunday afternoon movies, such as Can't Hardly Wait, which I happen to be watching right now.
Television:
I love television. Right now i'm watching Lost, Project Runway, Family Guy, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy. I have a guilty pleasure for the Game Show Network, especially the Match Game. Oh, Dickie Dawson, you kissing bandit, you. I also love shows like MXC and I love the 80s. Sometimes, a person just needs to watch some shitty reality television.
Books:
I'll read anything that anyone recommends to me. It also takes a lot for me to give up on a book. It has to be really bad, on the level of 'Bergdorff Blondes.' In me younger days, I had read any book written by John Grisham. Right now, I really enjoy biographies, the last one read being a biography about Janis Joplin. Good stuff. I have to admit though, I am a huge sucker for celebrity magazines, and usually have at least one on hand. My excuse is that I buy them for the crosswords. I'll stick to that story.
