Sistema Nervioso

"...where the law end & tyranny begins..."

About Me

Sistema Nervioso (Latin for The Nervous System) was formed in March of 1994. The socio-political driven power-violence quartet included Leah Collery (Guitar/Vocals), John Santos (lead vocals), Paul Sanchez (Bass/Drums), Shane Pennington (Drums/Bass). In 1995 they recorded their debut release Before the Fall and soon after embarked on their first West/Midwest US tour in support of. Cut short due to ignorant cops, bigot judges, & jail the band returned prematurely and recorded their second release Where Tyranny Begins EP released on Bad People Records. Shortly after lead vocalist John Santos left the band while the trio pulled together and shared vocal responsibilities for their first East Coast tour in support of the new EP. The trio was later offered another recording and distribution deal from a DIY located in Texas. The band left for another West Coast tour in addition to recording the Chance EP during the tour. Due to a partner separation within the distributor the recording un-deliberately hijacked never to be found or released. Sistema Nervioso disbanded in 1998. It is said there's been recent talk of a potential reunion show as well as a discography released on Bad People Records which will include a live show at CBGBs. ******************releases***************** Sistema Nervioso - "Demo 94" (Taos Hum demo) cassette (self released) - "Before The Fall" cassette (self released) - "Una Cuerno De Vaca.." 2x7" compilation (Tee Pee Records) - "No Royalties" LP compilation (Bad People Records) - "Where Tyranny Begins" 7"EP (Bad People Records) "Chance" EP (M.I.A.)
