MEATBALL 500 RALLY!!!!Whats it all about?
The Meatball 500 Rally was an idea I had after watching the 2006 Gumball rally on tv! It looked liked fantastic fun. Fast cars, long drives, and parties everynight, but the most obvious thing being that unless you had a serious bank balance it wasnt for the likes of me.
In fact further investigation at the Gumball website, showed that to enter the 2007 Gumball rally costs £28,000! yep, that's corret twenty eight thousand pounds per car and thats just for two people, every extra person costs £12,000!
So the idea was born why not do it a little cheaper, this is why entry into the Meatball rally is only £28 a bit of a difference!
The event will be staged over a weekend in March 2007, it will cover approx 500 miles of A roads and motorways, starting and finishing in Shaftesbury Dorset. The Saturday night will be spent in Swansea!
The route will remain secret until 30 mins before departure where you will be given an envelope with clues to your destinations. There are a number of checkpoints along the way where you will be asked to verify your location by taking a photo, either by camera phone or digital camera.
As this is designed for maximum fun you are requested to remain in fancy dress for the full duration of the event.
As stated in the terms & conditions this is not a race, an average time has been taken for the journeys and the verification of your location will help us decide the points awarded. Those nearest to the average time will score higher points.
There are no prizes for finishing first! But awards will be made for those who display fun, spirit and sportsmanship!
All checkpoints must be completed, failure to do so by skipping checkpoints will result in that team buying the first round for all other teams!
You can see that we have kept costs to a minimum, therefore accomodation is NOT provided. We will included a list of B&B's and Hotels in our Saturday night stop over, It is upto each team to ensure that accomodation is booked prior to departure!

UPDATE- So there is was - done and dusted, it took place, it happened and all I can say is a big thankyou to all of you who took part!As you can see from the pics, it was a whole lot of fun!Now, Im rattling my brain for the next event which will take place with a bit of luck in Oct 07 - Watch this space as always "THINGS ARE GOING TO GET HAIRY!!!!"
