Joy In Tomorrow began in the small town of Lynchburg, Virginia. That was where singer/guitarist Joshua Smith and guitarist Daniel Adams met and decided to pursue music. After their previous band had ended, the two still felt the undeniable desire to potentially write and play music together. The duo recorded an acoustic project at Cue-Studios that was engineered and produced by Harry Evans (Poole/Spin Art Records). As they began to write more music they felt the need for two additional members, this would include a permanent drummer and bassist. During their search, Joshua and Daniel traveled to Boston and recorded another project with Mike Poorman (Hot Rod Circuit/Vagrant Records) at Q Division Studios in late 2003. Mike not only produced and engineered the project, but also played drums. When the boys made their return to Virginia they were fortunate enough to stumble upon drummer Nathan Sheasby, who would soon become the next piece to the puzzle. After a few short practices, they knew Nathan was the one they had been waiting for. After the new addition of Nathan, Joy in Tomorrow was still in need of a permanent bass player. The band soon discovered bassist Isaac Collins, through Nathan. The two had grown up together and had been playing music together since the 7th grade. Isaac drove all the way down to Virginia from Ohio, to try out for the spot. After a short tryout and some quick decisions, Isaac packed his things and headed for Virginia, where he would now become the completion of Joy In Tomorrow. The band soon moved to Atlanta, and after a year of writing with a full roster, they were given an opportunity to work with Jeff Schneeweis (Singer/Guitarist for Number One Gun/Tooth & Nail Records). The band then flew to California to have Jeff Schneeweis produce and engineer the record. At present you can find Joy In Tomorrow living, working, and writing music in Atlanta. As for the near future, expect to see Joy In Tomorrow on the road supporting their recently released E.P., â€œA Snapshot of Who Iâ€™ve Always Beenâ€.
