About Me

my life, excellently described by john campbell of pictures for sad children

hello. i'm steve, and i live in bristol. at the moment i'm kind of running stitch-stitch records

i like living in the city. i moved here in autumn 2006. i like spending evenings in cafe kino. i like watching bands play in the here shop. i like dancing to some music.

i play the clarinet okay, and i can get by on things that have keys. my brain is rubbish and won't let me make my own music yet, but if you want to make some with me then that would be great!

i play instruments with my friends boxcar aldous huxley, roxanne:theearlyyears and i know i have no collar, and i play live with headfall sometimes as well (it's amazing!)

i like taking the train to places. my favourite season is autumn. i had a cat, but he died. i can be quite difficult to get on with, and a bit too bossy. if i'm not, that means i'm trying hard.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who like to create beautiful music; people who like woods and fields and streams; a girl; people who get excited about maths and nature and music and art in equal measure; crafty kids; perhaps you?

Music:

and a long time ago, this lot were so good that they were my favourite thing in the world:

You can find a sort of aggregation of what I've listened to for the last three-and-a-half years at Audioscrobbler , or whatever it's called nowadays.
I like a lot of stuff really. I don't like having to sum it up, I'd rather get excited about bands with you or something.

Movies:

Books:

..Haruki Murakami, Beatrix Potter, John Steinbeck, Terry Pratchett, Kurt Vonnegut, Jonathan Safran Foer, Mikhail Bulgakov. I should read more really.

Heroes:
