To our friends, fans, and families:
The arrival of a new-year signifies many things for many people. For
Existor, 2008 represents new opportunities for the members of the band
on multiple levels. The purpose of this statement is to inform
everyone involved with Existor, past, present, and future, that the
band as individuals will be spreading their wings in 2008 to explore
what the world has to offer them.
Opportunities are knocking for Hunter, Paul, Joe, and Matt, who plan
on utilizing their college degrees to their maximum potential.
Graduate programs, international travel, and new jobs will be their
main focus in the coming year.
We most certainly would not have achieved the level of success we
have enjoyed over the last two years without the hard work put forth
by those outside of the band who believed in us, our music, and our
collective goals.
To those of you who were continually willing to sacrifice your spare
time to help Existor flourish in every direction, your hard work and
effort definitely paid off. From the booking agents, graphic
designers, guest musicians, venues, visual performers, co-producers,
street teamers, tapers, and of course to our die-hard family of fans,
Existor would not be what it is today without you.
The members of Existor want to stress the fact that this is certainly
not one of those cliché "good-bye" statements, merely an update on the
individual plans each band member has for the next year. Most likely,
the band will pick up where they left of sometime in early 2009. Until
then, make sure to plan on attending the last few Existor shows of
2008 in Richmond. Full details are listed in the tour dates section of
our myspace page.
With tremendous sincerity and love,
Existor
From Richmond, VA, Existor progressively blurs the lines between electronic dance music, down-tempo grooves and jazz fusion with mind-bending results. By doing so, the trio successfully pinpoints the perfect medium between multiple genres of thought-provoking instrumental music. Spiraling chord progressions, pummeling bass lines, and intense break-beats are the building blocks of the original compositions guaranteed to stimulate both the body and the mind.
The members of Existor have known each other since grade school but the band didn't form until June of 2005 after a series of long overdue studio sessions. 2007 was nothing short of ground-breaking for Existor. Highlights include being featured on PBS's "The Music Seen", two well-attended East Coast tours, playing for nearly 3,000 live music fans at the Friday Cheers Concert Series in Richmond, a special guest sit-in from NYC's jungle MC, TC Izlam, and not to mention sharing bills with multiple national touring acts at some of the best clubs on the East Coast. Existor occasionally features guest musicians and DJs to lend their amazing talents to the trio.
