Meeting people for real usually breaks the bubble of what you think of them. I'd rather gawk from a far.
I have no real taste. I mostly steal what other people listen to and make it my own. Just keep away Country Propoganda Music.
The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, Snatch, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Rounders, A Few Good Men, Saving Private Ryan, Scent of a Woman, Band of Brothers, Primary Colors, Schindler's List, Green Street Hooligans, Closer.
The Daily Show, Colbert Report, The West Wing, Battlestar Galatica (the new one), Stargate SG1 (I'm a nerd), and since coming to China I've bought and become addicted to Prison Break, Lost, Grey's Anatomy and How I Met Your Mom.
Modern Political Thought books (a nerd, I know) including new age stuff on the topic. Been reading Tipping Point, Freakonomics, and Guns, Germs and Steel lately. Also on a kick with books about the end of the world (must be my zombie facination at work). I'll basically read anything with a good plot twist or that imparts some scientific advice about society.
