I'd like to meet:

Someone from the year 2106...

Music:

Arcade Fire, The Rapture, The Strokes, Interpol, Muse, Beck, The Prodigy, The Libertines, Babyshambles, Bjork, Joy Division, New Order, Blondie, Basement Jaxx, Doves, Oasis, Pulp, Blur, Stone Roses, Gorrilaz, Arctic Monkeys, Air, Daft Punk, Massive Attack, Avalanches, Royksopp, Kraftwerk, Chemical Brothers, Jamiroquoi, Blackalicious, Har Mar Superstar, Radiohead, Goldfrapp, Belle & Sebastian. Electronica, breakbeats, 80s power ballads, indie rock 'n' roll - anything that makes me think or wanna dance like a Mancunian...

Movies:

World cinema; Pedro Almodovar (All About My Mother, Talk to Her), Hayao Myazaki (Spirited Away), Three Colours trilogy, Open Your Eyes, Taxi. Best for laughs; Spinal Tap, Blazing Saddles, The Producers, Nuts in May. Best in past year; Night Watch, The Preposition - so many I haven't seen yet... Misc; Threads (filmed in Sheffield) - nightmare-evoking, but a definate must-see, it'll change your outlook on life & society. Dead Man's Shoes, Deer Hunter, Sophie's Choice, The Apartment, Lost in Translation, The Godfather, Withnail & I. Weirdest; Tetsuo's Iron Man. 80s; Footloose, Labyrinth, Goonies, Dirty Dancing (yep, my taste isn't flawless!) Erm, my minds gone blank - I'll get back to you later....

Television:

I'm not a big TV-watcher to be honest, but these threaten to turn my eyes square on skint Friday nights in... My Name is Earl, The IT Crowd, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Man Stroke Woman, The Mighty Boosh, The Apprentice. When in need of a laughter kick; Alan Partridge, Spaced, Brass Eye, The Day Today, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Open All Hours, Only Fools & Horses, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, The Office, Phoenix Nights.... oh, & Most Haunted.

Books:

I've been catching up with some of the classics I hadn't read like Lord of the Flies & To Kill a Mocking Bird. I read 'I am Legend' a couple of years back, that was gripping stuff. Paulo Cuelho's The Alchemist was a good read too (I've heard it's going to be made into a film)- I got some of his other stuff but didn't enjoy it as much. On a slightly different note, I've just read 'Mastering Fashion Buying & Merchandising Management' (Jackson / Shaw, Palgrave 2001) & highly recommend it to anyone wishing to enter this field as it is painstakingly comprehensive & everything you need to know is in there.

Heroes:
