Les Exodus formed in 1987 in the TC area, and quickly gained popularity and began touring internationally. Throughout the 90’s, the band went through several roster changes, as far as band members, but to this day, their sound and soul has been impressively preserved. The newest chapter of Exodus began several years ago, as the group gelled into its current line-up of all-star musicians, which includes founding member Charles "Chilly" Petrus.Known for their dual lead singers, tight arrangments, high energy delivery, and great set material, Exodus puts on a show that is equally as easy to relax to as it is to get wild and dance to. Mixing up their live shows with a healthy blend of covers and originals, their show is colorful and full of suprises. Don’t be suprised to hear the latest R&B single or perhaps a salsa or a hip hop groove snuck into the reggae context. One of the standout features of an Exodus show is how big and full they sound with only drums, bass, and keyboards underneath the vocals. Drawing from a very broad tonal palette, Exodus brings a sound that can range from uber-modern to old school all within a single song. Keyboard bass, talkboxed back-up vocals, stylish drum samples and loops, and of course two singers, a crooner and a DJ, give a little something for everyone.Les Exodus has opened for acts like 311, and also played as the backing band for artists such as Everton Blender, Sister Carol, and Sugar Minott, arranging tight shows to represent the music to the extent it deserves.
