Look below. And over there -----
I have phenomenal friends. I've met too many beautiful people with blank expressions and soul-less eyes. I don't want those people in my life. I want more funny, loving, joyful, non-judgmental people in my life. I prefer "real" people, but I realize this is LA where fake is the norm, so if you are fake, at least be unique in your fake-ness and have a decent head on your shoulders (even though your head is comprised of capped teeth, botox, rhinoplasty, colored contacts, fake cheek bones and a hair color that's bleached or bottled). Morals and values would be nice too, but not required.
Music moves me in deep and powerful ways. I like everything from Enya, Sarah McLachlan, Shakira, Amy Lee - Evanesence, Gwen Stefani, Corinne Bailey Rae, Missy Elliot, Sheryl Crow, Sade, Christina Aguilera, Janet, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Alicia Keyes, Beyonce, Bjork, Barbra, Donna Summer, Tori Amos, Jewel, Traci Chapman, Carol King, Karen Carpenter, Madonna, Toni Braxton, Jevetta Steele, Alanis, Tina Turner, Erykah Badu, Joss Stone, Norah Jones, Anna Nalick, India Arie (LOVE her), Gloria Estefan, Cher, Brandy, Selena to Seal, Lenny Kravitz, Duncan Sheik, Josh Grobin, Lionel Ritchie, Sting, Enigma, Massive Attack, Outkast, Black Eyed Peas, Korn, Green Day, Trance Planet, Andreas Vollenweider, B-Tribe, Deep Forest and of course, some, NOT every Broadway musical. (Wicked is the shit) and I love Miss Saigon, AIDA and Moulin Rouge too. Basically I love everything but heavy metal and most country except for Dolly, Leanne Womack, Martina McBride and Leanne Rimes. Sorry, but I can't stand that twangy "My daddy just raped me while my momma watched and fixed me some chitlins and grits" type of country music.
I love, love, love the movies, but prefer watching them at home where I can see great scenes over and over again. I'll see anything Nicole Kidman's in. Same for Cate Blanchet, Susan Sarandon, Shirley MacLaine, Jessica Lang, Jodie Foster, Judi Dench. Clive Owen is the shit. Edward Norton's cool. DeNiro's DeNiro. Pacino's Pacino, but they're solid. So is Tom Cruise. Professionally, that is. Some faves: "Kung Fu Hustle" (fukin hilarious!!! RENT IT!), "Rich and Famous", "Beaches" (my fave I think - heart warming, touching, funny and entertaining), "Adventures In Babysitting", "Notes on A Scandal", "Shawshank Redemption", "Fight Club", Witches of Eastwick", "On Golden Pond", "Frances", "Requiem For A Dream", "Silence of the Lambs", 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Tootsie", "Steel Magnolias" , "Private Benjamin", "Postcards From The Edge" ('It twirled up!' Gotta love it), "Waiting For Guffman", "When A Stranger Calls", "Wait Until Dark", most action movies, comedies, usually anything Woody Allen, scary movies, mysteries, psychological thrillers. PORN: "Dawson's Crack", "Jackin' Off The Beanstalk", "Star Whores", "Survivewhore", "Commandwhore In Chief", "The Apprentass", "Things that Go Hump In The Night", "America The Bootyful", "Only the Good Die Hung"
"24", "Project Runway","Amazing Race", "Rescue Me", "Boston Legal". "Criss Angel: Mindfreak" on A&E. He is fucking AMAZING! "Medium", "Without A Trace", "Oprah", "American Idol", "Seinfeld", "Designing Women", "Abfab", "Golden Girls" , "I Love Lucy", "Bewitched", "I Dream of Jeannie", Animal Planet, Discovery, CNN, Fox News, MTV, The TODAY Show
Michael Chrichton, Dan Brown, Sandra Brown, Sidney Sheldon, Jackie Collins (love a trashy novel on the beach), books on self growth and spirituality - The Artist's Way, Kahlil Gibran, Shakti Gawain, anything Kabbalah, and tons of magazines.
My mother - the sweetest, kindest, warmest, funniest woman I know, my sister Lydia, my grandparents who fought their way across Europe during the Nazi era to keep their family alive, and myself. I'm my own hero. LOL
