About Me

Stoney Creek's Straight Reads The Line is a 5-piece progressive metalcore band, formed in late 2004 from the ruins of a few local bands. The band paid their dues in shows, member changes and several demos before solidifying and heading to Hamilton's Mastermind Studios to record their debut album. The resulting 8 song EP, entitled Lets Get Nuts!, included a guest vocal performance by Dallas Green of Alexisonfire, and has since sold out of its 1000 copy pressing. In early 2007 the band, often simply referred to as SRTL ("Surtle"), joined forces with Verona Records. Straight Reads The Line will be spending all of this coming summer on the road, crisscrossing Canada several times before heading into the studio this fall to track their first full-length record for Verona.
