By definition, pop music is the kind of device that quells the masses- nothing too new or too different to peek anyone's interest with. You're just supposed to plug it in and tune out. That's the ideology that Kilhuminzu trick listeners with. The intertwining guitar lines of Mitch Fillion and Kevin Bell are accessible and almost familiar. They could lead you anywhere- and, in combination with Mitch's catchy, sometimes biting lyricism- you might not come back. The band's rhythm section (brothers Brian and Brent Wirth) are just as affluently creative, filling out Kilhuminzu's sound with infections and tightly wound beats that will make you rethink what pop music should really sound like.
