About Me
Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico Luis Oriel Torres, a.k.a Oriel knew
at an early age that his inner passion and devotion for music
was destined to be a motivational factor in pursuit of his dream
to become a successful artist. His mother would write her own
music and sing to her young son, giving Oriel a fond appreciation
for songwriting and an ear for good music. At the young age of nineOriel and his family moved from Puerto Rico to Chicago, where he
continued to grow an interest in music, so his mother encouraged
him to participate in talent shows and school plays where he would
then fall in love with performing in front of an audience. After deciding
to move to Connecticut, Oriel's musical talents have progressed and
granted him the opportunity to be showcased throughout Connecticut
in various nightclubs. The lyrics that Oriel writes himself are credited
to the musical influences of Puerto Rican icons Don Omar, Daddy
Yankee, Zion Y Lenox, Jerry Rivera and Chayanne as well as R&B
legends, Dru Hill, 112, Jodeci, R-kelly, Boyz To Men and Jagged Edge .
His lyrical blend of R&B soulful love songs with reggaeton beats brings
a new twist to this reggaeton genre that keeps the ladies wanting more. Now 20 years old Oriel signed with GM Music in 2006 giving him the
opportunity to record new songs and highlight his talent on stage.
Oriel has done several large performances, including opening for Hector
El Father at the New York City Puerto Rican Parade after party, the Puerto
Rican festivals in NJ and the Ruff Ryder car show at Yankee Stadium.
During the spring of 2006 Oriel joined GM recording artists, Nitro y Fanta
to tour across Eastern Europe and Canada, as one of the first reggaton
tours to hit the nation of Canada.
