About Me

The Heart Vajra The heart vajra, with eyes in golden flames,
is a symbol of the unborn, undying, indestructible spirit,
or Buddha Nature,
around which the anatomical, biological,
and psychical dynamism of life comes to form.

Chief Seattle's Reply
(recited by Joseph Campbell)

Chief Seattle is said to have given this speech as a response to the US Government's wish to buy land inhabited by his people. There is controversy surrounding the actual words of Chief Seattle. This version of the speech is based on what screenwriter Ted Perry wrote for the purpose of his ecological movie Home. The speech is famous for its beautiful ecological statement and has been quoted often. Here it is recited by Joseph Campbell for the PBS series, The Power Of Myth.
And here's a bit from Alan Watts (with a little help from Trey Parker and Matt Stone)...
