About Me

He goes by the name DJ Tone (ATL's Own) (It's like "A Tribe Called Quest" you gotta say the whole thing) (LoL!) DJ Tone was born at Grady Memorial Hospital in the greatest city on this planet, Atlanta, Georgia. A product of the SWATS (SW Atlanta) and the Bankhead area, he attended South West Middle School, and soon after...became a student and alum of the best high school in the city Frederick Douglass. Just as most of Atlanta's homegrown taste makers, movers and shakers, and celebs, he was a frequent at the now legendary Greenbriar Skating Rink, where he watch the hottest VW Rabbits and Jetta's bump some of the most influential music of our era, Hip Hop. His fascination with Hip Hop led him to his first concert the one and only Fresh Fest, where he witnessed LL Cool J come out of a giant radio and Run DMC show why they were kings. But the biggest impression was made by Whodini's DJ Grand Master D, who was so crucial on the 1's and 2's that they had to pull him up in the air and off of the tables while he was still scratching. DJ Tone was so moved by this display that he immediately asked his mother to buy him some turntables and a mixer. So afterwards he would begin mixing classics like Just Ice - LaToya with Joe-Ski Love - Pee Wee Dance (Do you feel me yet???), and performing local house parties. In 1988, DJ Tone began a career in the United States Air Force which allowed him to take his skills to various parts of the world. Tone has killed crowds in clubs from Germany to The Netherlands to Korea and Japan. DJ Tone has also had the opportunity to open up several concerts during his travels was well. From the 90's hit R&B group Jade, to DC's Own DJ Kool, and let's not forget the oh so smooth Brian McKnight to name a few. His infectious feel for mixing some of the least expected songs and genres of music to perfection has earned him rave reviews. DJ Tone has become a Chameleon amongst DJ's his versatility has earned him numerous corporate contracts such as Couture Events, LLC and Grady Health System in Atlanta. Whether you want the hottest joints being dropped today or those classics that you grew up listening to in the 70's, 80's, & 90's...DJ Tone has you covered...So holla at ya boy!!!
