The epic group that has brought you studio recordings from the closet leaking all over the internet for the past few years is now taking a step into into the public domain. The group, which originally consisted of the 3 Hansen brothers and their cousin Wes Nelson(Dub Nelly), is on the verge of releasing their first professionally produced full-length LP Don't Trust This Storm. The LP will consist of music produced by the original 4, although the group has lost Chris(the oldest Hansen) due to his mission in San Diego.
Signalfire began in basement jam sessions (as all bands do), and developed into a group called Cloud Nine, a strictly studio band consisting of the original 4 (Chris, Mark, Adam, and Dub Nelly). The band managed to record a self produced and self titled LP in the spring of 2006 which produced the hits American Idle, The Monster Song, and Two Cents Short. Over the course of the summer of 2006, the group changed its name to Eight The Flume, and began work on a studio album of the same name. A show was played where new songs from the intended album were played, including the hits 1 AM and Step Into The Spotlight, although the work produced over that summer was never worthy enough to produce the album.
After this period Eight The Flume, as they were currently known as, went into a brief hiatus. During this time various unproductive side projects from all 4 members went on. When the hiatus ended in early 2007, the band took on a new name, Rebel PC. Over the course of 2007 the band stuck to the drawing board to devise a new sound, and also made a self-produced 25 minute documentary. By the end of the 2007 the band had been at the drawing board for quite long enough, and made the decision to take to the studio to record a killer full-length LP.
In early 2008, the band began recording Don't Trust This Storm, and took on the name Signalfire. While Don't Trust This Storm is on the verge of its release, the new sound created for the album will be the only time this sound will be heard because of the loss of Chris. Have no worries though, the band is already in the process of developing a new sound where bassist Dub Nelly is making the transition to guitar and soon the loss of Mark to college in Utah will cause him to transition to management and writing only. This leaves Adam and Dub Nelly for the upcoming year to create the best sound Signalfire has created thus far, and the sound is already in the process AND IT WILL BE THE FIRST TIME EVER WHERE SIGNALFIRE IS A STABLE BAND THAT PLAYS SHOWS AND HAS A CONSISTENT SOUND!! GET STOKED!! A bassist will need to be added to create what will soon be known as Signalfire.. an ultimate alternative trio.
