About Me

Fielder is about to turn 8 months old. That only took ten minutes. He talks, laughs, crawls, argues, and generally raises holy hell with the best of them. Life with my wife and him is all I could ever imagine asking for.

Today Now!: How To Pretend You Give A Shit About The Election

My Interests

My wife, my boy, good music, good films, and fewer good books than I should have read. (I did love The Road by Cormac McCarthy) Oh, and the Red Sox.

I'd like to meet:

Fielder in 25 years, Thom Yorke, Charles Bukowski, Hunter S. Thompson, David Cross, Stephen Colbert, Jonathan Papelbon, The Cohen Brothers, Bill Hader, the writers for Lost (so I could shake them violently until they apologize for flipping my head all around). Can't believe how true this is today...

Music:

Enduring love affairs:Radiohead, Wilco, Travis, Coldplay (I've heard the fucking 40 Year Old Virgin joke, thanks) Tom Waits, Aesop Rock, The Foo Fighters, My Morning Jacket, The National, Damien Rice, DJ Shadow, Elliott Smith, The White Stripes, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Atmosphere, Fiona Apple, Jeff Buckley, Kings of Convenience, Modest Mouse.Present flings:Cold War Kids, Feist, LCD Soundsystem, Kate Nash, Bon Iver.

Movies:

The Big Lebowski, Mystic River, There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, Juno, anything Judd Apatow is involved with, Punch Drunk Love, Sideways, Million Dollar Baby, Monster's Ball, Stripes, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, David Lynch movies (whenever I am lacking utter bewilderment), Secretary, Brokeback Mountain and any other Ang Lee film WITHOUT CGI, I Heart Huckabees, Swingers, anything written by Charlie Kaufman, The Shawshank Redemption, Caddyshack, Leaving Las Vegas, any John Cusack 80's movie, as well as a select few of the ones he has made since, Star Wars (duh), most Tarantino, any Wes Anderson (though I think he peaked with Rushmore), a fairly broad cross section of classics, any zombie movie with a sense of humor, and about 78% of Woody Allen's films.

Television:

Top Chef, Lost, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, The Colbert Report, Countdown with Keith Olberman, The Sopranos, and a host of shows WAY too embarrassing to admit to watching even once.

Books:

The last good one I read was The Road by Cormac McCarthy.Hunter Thompson, David Sedaris, Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Bukowski, Stephen King, Bret Easton Ellis are all authors I would read anything by.

Heroes:

My amazing wife and son, the two great surprises of my life.

the loss

Twenty nine minutes or so into the Rays victory celebration, I find myself at the computer. My shame for not ever considering them a legitimate threat (despite their consistent ability to sweep us at ...

Saynt Lewis

It occured to me that it would be remarkably easier to post a blog, rather than contact each of my friends individually. Im assuming, mind you, that some of you may still give a fuck despite my lack o...
