HIP HOP CULTURE
I also, as a hobby, preach hip hop through the knowledge of Kool Moe Dee and Jayquan's Foundation. There is so much to learn and experience, such as the true roots of hip hop way back in the early 70s in the Bronx. Dj Kool herc is the father of hip hop (the first to rhyme over beats), Afrika Bambaataa is the father of hop hop culture (Universal Zulu Nation, founded 1974), and my personal favorite Dj, Grandmaster Flash along with his prodigy Grand Wizzard Theodore invented and mastered the art of djing. These three: Herc, Bam and Flash are the Holy Trinity of hip hop. There is much more knowledge out there, and I know most of you are interested in current hip hop: rap on the hardcore side, and r&b related songs, but there is much to appreciate from the past, arguably more then the present. It seems very primitave, but back then these songs and routines were the shit! There are many old hits that are good or even better then current hits. For instance, Afrika Bambaataa's Planet Rock record, which introduced a new genre into the world Bam calls "electro funk", and caused a shift in record making. Also my personal favorite is The Message by Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel & the Furious 5, which changed the game forever by introducing social aspects into raps, songs gained substance and ireversably evolved into a new kind of way to make songs. This is hip hop, we all are hip hop, those who choose to seek knowledge, wisdom and understanding, continue your search and never quit. Respect to the creator!!
