Do I look like a fucking people person?

About Me

"On the moon, nerds get their pants pulled down
and are spanked with moonrocks."

"We, however, want to become those we are - human beings who are new, unique, incomparable, who give themselves laws, who create themselves. To that end we must become the best learners and discoverers of everything that is lawful and necessary in the world: we must become physicists in order to be creators..."
(Nietzsche, The Gay Science)
I'm a fourth year Physics and Chemistry (double) major at San Jose State University. I work for Eloret doing nanotechnology research under contract by NASA Ames. I have recently decided that I wanted to get very good at Parkour, and when I decide that I want to be good at something, I make it happen.
I love getting my mind blown in my physics classes. It feels like I'm finally learning the secrets of the universe, and it is so beautiful. I love homework problems that take three pages to solve. I love music that makes me cry or feel alone. The picture in my contact box is the symbol for Mercury. This is my symbol because it is the female symbol with horns--the female warrior. As the messenger god, Mercury is fast and known for cleverness. As the element, Mercury is beautiful (quicksilver), but toxic or deadly upon consumption.
I am compassionate, loving, and oversensitive. I cry too easily. I am rude, arrogant, and antisocial. I love attention. I am a straight-A student and an over-achiever. I procrastinate like crazy. You figure it out, because I can't.

You scored 80!
You know what you're doing. Zig. You've got the magic touch, the one headshot to rule them all, the one headshot to bind them. Your name is well known amongst the commoners, and they fear and respect you. N00bs tremble at the sight of your character model rounding the corner and tend to flee in terror. You MAY want to get up off of your ass more often, though. Go out, chill with friends... learn how to pick up members of the opposite sex just as well as you play the game. Still, you could always play the game for money...!

My Interests

Things I love:

Physics, Math, Chemistry, music, parkour, outer space, driving fast while listening to loud music (or music loud), watching cartoons, video games, computers, techno toys, the beach, the ocean, good friends, good wine, hills and trees, lightning storms, cloudy skies

Things I do not love:

Stupid things. And please, understand that my use of the word "stupid" is very broad. Although I may on occasion use it to describe a general lack of intelligence, I frequently use it in place of adjectives such as, "annoying," "obstinate," "asinine," "insipid," "boring," "annoying," "superficial," or "frivolous." Thus, this broad category includes dipshits like George W. Bush, airheaded girls, religious fundamentalists, general education classes, business majors, FOX news, but most of all...

people who arrive first to a multiple-way stop and then WAIT for me to make a PAINFULLY COMPLETE stop before cautiously creeping into the intersection, when if they had just GONE when they GOT THERE and NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE, they would have been GONE by the time I got there, and I could have rolled on through. Wow, that pisses me off more than anything.

I'd like to meet:

Suckers who think they can play pool. We can play some. Don't forget your wallet.

People who practice Parkour, especially other women.

Books:

Ok, honestly, I only have time to read my textbooks these days. Since I refuse to list my favorite textbooks here and expose myself as a total nerd, I'll just have to go by what I remember enjoying back in the day when I had time for recreational reading.

To start with, the entire Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow series is great. Another incredible book by Orson Scott Card that is much overlooked is Pastwatch. Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Flowers for Algernon, Dream Dancer by Janet Morris, GEB... and it's been so long I can't remember any others.

Heroes:

My mom, who survived an abusive childhood and the suicides of a parent and a sibling to become the most honest and loving person I know. My dad, whose neverending interest and enthusiasm for knowledge about the world inspires me to try and give a shit.

My mom's most excellent blog! Please read!

I'm so proud of both my parents.  Neither of them were very political until the aftermath of September 11th.  Now, my dad has anti-war and anti-bush bumper stickers all over his car like "If...
