Waking up to life

About Me

Intro: I'm basically someone who has recently woken up to the old truth that life is passing by and I'm not getting what I can out of it. I'm not about to completely change everything, but I am starting to make better use of my time and taking opportunities rather than letting them pass me by.

Work: I'm a computer programmer who, for various reasons, is currently working as an hgv driver and loving it. My long-term plan is to get back into programming, and get the degree that I didn't bother with 1st time around. Ideally I would love to be alternating between programming and driving as I love them both.

Play: I like watching films and browsing the web. Love to socialise with friends, either at home or down the pub. Enjoy live music, but not into clubbing as I like to be able to talk to people without yelling and im not fond of dancing (well, until im hammered).

Plans: There's loads of things that I want to do and learn:learn to play the piano and the guitar; learn new languages (cliche, but there you go); do more sports like fencing, canoeing, running, martial arts and so on.; take advanced driving lessons; travelling (in the uk and abroad); and the list goes on.

Philosophy: One thing that I believe in very much indeed is balance. Between work and play; exercise and rest; healthy living and indulgence; time alone and time with friends; it applies across the board. Extreme's are desirable or useful at times, but they are unlikely to be a good thing if over-indulged.
