About Me

I'm an aspiring comic book artist with a few potential projects in the works. I am the writer/illustrator of the Bangles Comic Book, which can be found on the official messageboard of the Bangles, Return Post, at www.ezboard.com. I'm a former amateur champion bodybuilder, and retired as the NBBA Eastern USA champion. I qualified for the nationals by winning this contest, but opted to leave due to the overwhelming steroid use competitors needed to compete at this level. No trophy or amount of prestige is worth my health or compromising my beliefs.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The all time greatest rock band there ever was, The Bangles. I met them once, a long time ago. Just one more time, so that I never regret not telling them face to face that their music has had a huge impact on my life, and gave me many great memories and they don't even know me. The best one was when they got back together. It was like the favorite TV show you love gets cancelled for years and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, it's back on the air. Something like this may not seem like too much to many people when you look on the surface, but it made me realize that life is not that predictable, and it is possible for things to go the way you would like them to, and at a time when you need it the most.

Music:

The Bangles & only The Bangles. Bandmember solo projects as well. No exceptions, none better in the music biz.

Movies:

Television:

The Queen of Swords

Books:

I can get into romance/mystery novels. Nora Roberts & Danielle Steele are my two favorites. Any biographies of interest, comic books, art history, how to books.

Heroes:

I stand alone as my own man and choose not to emulate anyone, or view anyone as the template for the ideal potential "me". Excluding anyone I would want to be a carbon copy of (lol) and instead looking at the word "hero" from a third person view of life, I would have to say The Bangles are heroes to me. Even if I didn't like their music, I would be hard pressed to find better role models for teens and adults that are presently in the limelight. In 1987, the then Mayor of Los Angeles Tom Bradley declared (if I remember) Feb. 27 as Bangles Day. At the height of popularity, they did an innumerable great deal of fundraising, charitable events & otherwise for LA, as well as all over the world. Today they remain the same, putting out the same great music in this millenium. Legends of music aren't marked by how much they've done at any price, they're marked by a refusal to change and conform in a constantly changing business.
