Hey...Check This Out!

About Me

Do you want to know about me. Really?!?
Well, I guess that I started off like any other normal kid. Who loved to watch tv, movie matinees, always read adventure novels and comic books. I excelled in the arts at school which my mother decided to nutured my innate interests(thanks Mom!). At age 6, I did a bit of modelling for a Hallmark Christmas card with a bunch of other kids. I remember how I was more interested with everyone, who worked behind the scenes with all the props, lighting and camera equipment. I knew then I wanted to work in the entertainment business. Later, I got my first camera as I turned 14. I would go around and shoot everything in sight. I got alot of compliments which it built my confidence to become a photographer. By chance, I got to volunteer at a local telethon which I met and asked questions to most of the technicial crews and production staff at the tv station, C.F.T.O. They advised me to go to college and volunteer at a non-union tv station. I also got the opportunity to meet again, the late great, Al Waxman (King of Kingston, Cagney & Lacey).
I got lucky. When I actually did get a volunteer position at another tv station, C.F.M.T(now OMNI-TV) which I went to work in every department. I was a kid living out a dream. It was one of my best experiences. Later on, I went to college which I got a bit bored and lazy as I found it to be tedious work with most of my class assigments. I couldn't stand half of my instructors' attitudes with their rigid and conventional techniques. I almost decided to dropped out from school but I stuck it out. Fortunately, I got a job as assistant stage technician at a nearby mega amusement park, Paramount Canada's Wonderland for the summer. It would change my life as I was shook out from my complacency and boredom. I worked and learned so much about the music industry. I wasn't quite sure that I could handle all of it. I saw the best and worst part of the music entertainment scene after 3 long summer seasons. At the end of it, I was completely exhausted and almost ready to quit. By chance of fate, my confidence and faith was renewed at a book signing. Where I met up with the beautiful Elizabeth Manley, the bronze medal ice skating queen from the 1988 Winter Olympics so, I went back to my first passion which it was photography. Luckily, I met up with some really great friends, who were also aspiring musicians. I got invited to follow them around on their concert tour dates around the Greater Toronto Area (G.T.A.) (a big thanks to my bro, Juno award winner, Carlos Morgan along with the Mcauleys, Sky, Lisa Lougheed and other terrific Canadian artists, it has been a wild trip) It has kept me going at it ever since.
During one of my downtime moments, I answered a small ad in the back pages of a newspaper. It would be the beginning of the road which it lead me into the Director's Guild of Canada with a new, upcoming film locations and security company, Big Time League. I would finally be entering the official exclusive world of the film industry after a few unsuccessful attempts. My first feature film would be also be a first for music video director, Bille Woodruff and the star, Jessica Alba in her 1st lead in a major motion picture, "Honey" after the cancelled Fox-TV show, Dark Angel.
It would be another great learning and fun experience as I was inspire to dream again. I started learning on writing screenplays and rethinking on the process of moviemaking. The movie industry is a very unpredictable business as another year would pass until I got to work again on another major feature film. In 2003, the entire city of Toronto was plagued with a case of the SARS virus. The incident garnered mass hysteria from World Health Organization("W.H.O?!?") report. It became a media circus around the world broadcast news as the incident was blown out of proporation over 3 unfortunate deaths from the plague. By a strange twist of irony, the next feature film would be titled Resident Evil 2: The Apocalypse. A movie about a rampant virus outbreak inside a condemned city of zombies. Fortunately, I got to watch and follow all around the set as I observed a major international movie being made. I soaked up every bit of information in my mind as I watched the crews, the director Alexander Witt and the stars, Milla Jovovich and Oded Fehr. Everyone worked so hard and battled fatigue to complete the picture on time before the start of the cold winter season. In a relatively short succession of time, I have worked now on a few more feature films like Assault on Precinct 13, Four Brothers, Silent Hill and the upcoming SkinWalkers.
Now, my hope and dream is completing and selling one of my own screenplays for this year to be produce into a major feature or independent movie.
Like any other great adventure, my career, my life and my story is sure to be continued....(if you have read all of my profile. "whew!" you definetively get an add to my list! thanks for checking me out, myspace.com friends!)

Heroes:

I actually been fortunate to meet some of my favorite heroes while they were still here with us on earth.
I had the great opportunity to meet the famous former heavyweight champion boxer, Rubin 'The Hurricane' Carter. I have so much admiration for this man after he had been wrongfully accused and imprisoned in jail for nearly 30 years. I found him to be geniune spiritful man without any hatred, self-pity or animosity towards his imprisonment. I wish that I could have the same spirit of forgiveness within myself. His story was later depicted by Denzel Washington which it was directed by famous Canadian director, Norman Jewinson in the film, 'The Hurricane'.
One of my other heroes is cinematographer and director, Ernest Dickerson. Mr. Dickerson had been one of my all time favorite directors, Spike Lee's right hand man on many of my favorite films like "Do The Right Thing" and "Malcolm X". It was one of the main reasons that I wanted to join into the film industry after I saw his work and these two powerful movies.
I also had the pleasure to meet the extraordinary N.B.A legend, Mr. Isiah Thomas. I felt the same subugating spirit within him after his many deversities and challenges in sports, business and life. I believe his life story would be a phenomenal film.
