About Me

I read somewhere that proffessional band bios should be third person and list off accomplishments, so I decided to try this one out. It seems a bit too "marketing"-y to me but I guess maybe it'll help get gigs? Tell me what you think:
What would you say would happen if a two-piece New Wave band with a drum machine shared a bill with punk and hardcore bands? Well, if that band is the New Electric, what happens is kids dance and get enthusiastic and, believe it or not, the band doesn't get beat up.
The New Electric fuses a DIY Punk Ethic with a New Wave Style. They've played several benefit shows in Calgary, including Calgary's first ever Rock For Choice series of concerts.
They have been playing their particular brand of poppy, political dance music on stages around Calgary for about a year now, and their shows consistently get people on their feet and moving. They've shared the stage with some of the best local bands around, including The Martyr Index, MadCowboys, Think Don't Pray, Five Star Affair and others. They've also shared billings with a few out-of-towners including Accordion Legend Geoff Berner and Edmonton's Audio/Rocketry.
Are you ready for the information age?
