Everything I ever needed to know I learned at Cheap Trick concerts

About Me

My name is Walt and I have a microphone problem. Not really, but anyway I'm 38 years old, I grew up in Garner, North Carolina and I am the proud dad of a 9 year old daughter and a 14 year old son. I'm divorced now and I really enjoy the single life! Life can be so much fun the second time around. I'm truly blessed!
There it is folks, right there on the damn map...LOL!
Hosting "Up All Night With Wally" on WQDR 94.7 in 2003
Hosting "Primetime With Wally" on WKIX 102.3 in 2004
I have worked in the entertainment industry for about 10 years now and it has been a crazy journey to put it mildly. I started out as a club DJ at a "Gentlemen's Club" in a small town called Selma, North Carolina back in 1997. A couple of years later I began working as a ring announcer and television commentator for Southern Championship Wrestling. I loved ring announcing and the wrestling business so much that in addition to my duties in SCW, I announced for many other promotions including Piedmont Championship Wrestling, Ultimate Wrestling Alliance, New Frontier Wrestling, Ring Wars Carolina, Dangerzone Wrestling and United States Wrestling Federation. In 2003, I did internet and radio interviews for the National Wrestling Alliance which was a huge honor for me. I've worked in the Raleigh-Durham radio market since 2001 as an on air personality and most recently as a traffic reporter. Since 2001, I've had the pleasure of working for such fine stations as WQDR 94.7, WPTF 680, WKIX 102.3, ESPN Radio (WTSB 1090) and News 14 Carolina.

My Interests

Music is my life and pretty much always has been. I'm really happy to be working as a Tour Manager for international singer/songwriter Van Preston and her band. We're going all over the globe in 2008 so be sure to read my blogs and check out my pics from time to time.... Thanks for visiting my MySpace page!!!

God Bless Randy Rhoads! 1956-1982

I'd like to meet:

I love meeting new friends on here, especially when we share the same interests! I also love to hear from old friends from back in the day, as well as my listeners. But I HAVE TO BE HONEST, I'm single and have all intentions of staying that way. I'm not looking for a girlfriend or casual encounter or anything like that, just friendship. Friendship and friendship only....

Check out the video clip below of Jeff Keith of Tesla performing a country show in Nashville. I was honored to be one of 100 guests at the show and we had such a BLAST! JK Rocks!

Music:

I grew up on KISS, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Black Sabbath, Tesla, Rush, Queen, Heart, Blondie, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Stevie Nicks, Van Halen, Triumph, Styx, Judas Priest, The Eagles, Bad Company and Ozzy Osbourne but I pretty much listen to anything. If I had to identify my all time favorite band it would be a close tie between Bon Jovi & Cheap Trick. I've been going to their concerts since the early 80's. Lately I have been jamming to Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Foo Fighters, SR-71, The Donnas, Life of Agony, Journey, Tesla, Keith Caputo, Judas Priest, Jennifer Paige, Badlands, Mitch Allan, Lydia Gray, Glenn Hughes, The Cars, Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals & Kid Rock.

My favorite TV shows at this time would have to be Nancy Grace and Rescue Me. I also enjoy watching Fox News Channel, VH1 Classic and the soap operas on the Spanish channels. My favorite thing to watch on TV is NC State Basketball!

Heroes:

Henry David Thoreau, Jim Valvano, Ronald Reagan and last but not least my biological mother who I have yet to meet.....
