About Me
Four Thousand Souls is the new jazz house fusion project from
DJ St.John de-Zilva and trumpeter Kevin Davy. The duo bring together flowing top lines with deep grooves and strong chord progressions. Recorded over a six month period the EP retains a live feel with arrangements that are true and not contrived with extra filler.Between the two of them they have had over 30 years performance experience meeting up as part of St.John's jazz funk combo Retroactif in the 90s. This introductory EP brings forth 3 tracks that show the excellent balance that the two get between the keyboard and production skills along with some very tight trumpet playing. A great live feeling that should go down well with some jazz radio stations as well as a very promising live act to follow.DJ Reactions:Craig Bartlett: L'America 8/10: "really like this ep"
