I am here for Friends

About Me

What the hell do people say on these things?? For starters, I'm 25 years old and I'm currently going to grad school(full-time student) and substitute- teaching. I got my Bachelor's Degree in English and my initial teaching certification in Secondary English. I'm generally an outgoing person and I like talking with all kinds of different people-that's probably why traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I'm really into foreign languages, reading, movies, wine, people that intrigue me, stars, green sweaters, coffee, bagels, night time, massages, history, and a million other things. People that consistently invade my three feet of personal space (aka "close talkers") kinda freak me out. :p I tend to think too much, always thinking of two things at once;some people mistake my multi-thinking abilities for ADD, crazy people. ;)I am a music junkie and will go to a concert any chance I can get-I love that feeling of getting a buzz from the energy of the crowd as you lose yourself to the music... Another thing- I am really into movies. Besides watching too many movies, I like to discuss em', too-if you cannot form at least one evaluative sentence about a movie that you just saw, I may never want to talk with you again, lol. I guess you could say that I like it when people think outside the box. I am always interested in learning more-I actually like doing research and I recognize that I may sound like a loser when I say that. :) My pursuit of knowledge is varied in that I not only try to educate myself in multiple ways but also in that I aspire to be a "jack (jane?) of all trades". I like wine a little too much at times(wine touring is a great way to spend any Sunday) and I really just enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Although I like going out, I also enjoy just chilling out at home, relaxing, watching a good movie, something along those lines. There's a lot more I could talk about, but this is good enough for now, dammit.

The cause of and the solution to all of life's problems." -Homer Simpson-“Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.” -Carrie Bradshaw, "Sex and the City"-"I'd rather be a forest than a street. Yes I would. If I could, I surely would.I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet, Yes I would. If I could, I surely would." -Song lyrics from "El Condor Pasa, Simon & Garfunkel.Movie line from Fabienne in "Pulp Fiction": (below)"Potbellies make a man look either oafish, or like a gorilla...But on a woman, a potbelly is very sexy. The rest of you is normal. Normal face, normal legs, normal hips, normal ass, but with a big, perfectly round potbelly. If I had one, I'd wear a tee-shirt two sizes too small to accentuate it." ~

Heroes:

"You look at it, but it is not to be seen; Its name is Formless. You listen to it, but it is not to be heard; Its name is Soundless. You grasp it, but it is not to be held; Its name is Bodiless. These three elude all scrutiny, And hence they blend and become one. Its upper side is not bright; Its under side is not dimmed. Continuous, unceasing, and unnameable, It reverts to nothingness. It is called formless form, thingless image; It is called the elusive, the evasive. Confronting it, you do not see its face; Following it, you do not see its back. Yet by holding fast to this Way of old, You can harness the events of the present, You can know the beginnings of the past-- Here is the essence of the Way." -Taoism.
