The Gruntled...warm bodies/cold beers

About Me

The Gruntled started filling South Florida dives in 2002 with its noisy-roots rock. Founded and fronted by Mark Zolezzi on guitar and vocals, the four-piece outfit - Mike Johnson on Bass, Steve Johnson on drums, and Jayson Teicher on guitar - released its self-titled debut record in 2005 on the Ant Lunch Musick label, an underground collective of bands that features Postface, the Ex-Cretins, and South-by-Southwest alumns Baby Robots and Mr. Entertainment. Zolezzi has also been releasing albums under the Kaptain moniker since 1998, appearing on Ant Lunch Musick compilation "What's for Drugs?" along with Eric Gaffney from Sebadoh, Brother JT, Three Day Stubble, and Austin-based space rockers ST 37.The Gruntled has headlined dozens of venues aross Florida, such as, Churchill's Hideaway, The Poorhouse, Repectable Street, Club M, and CityLink magazine's annual Music Fest. They enjoy playing in front of warm bodies with cold beers. Turn-offs include alarm clocks, green beans, and global thermonuclear war.The Gruntled are currently on hiatus while the Kaptain is working on his fourth album, "Z like in Zebra" due out in 2008.
