About Me

Me
I once made my poetry enjoyable,
but these days it reads like clichés,
I once made recipes come to life,
but these days I dine out on my past,
I once made you cry at the beauty of my work,
but these days the lines only make you laugh,
I once made up lies,
but these days I lie on my back,
I once made nouns a joy to behold,
but these days I perform acts of infamous renown,
I once made a living out of royalties,
but these days I’m afraid I’m broke,
I once made my way to the North Pole,
but these days I don’t believe in Santa,
I once made the New York Times bestsellers list,
but these days I’m out of print,
I once made images of sandcastles appear real,
but these days there is no sand,
I once made a habit of avoiding big mistakes,
but these days I can only dream of being perfect,
I once made a list of my favourite Oscar Wilde quotes,
but these days I resist the temptation,
I once made alcohol my constant companion,
but these days I can only afford to drink free water,
I once made writing my life’s passion,
but these days I have no hands,
I once made time for people,
but these days I’m a recluse,
I once made funny faces,
but these days I don’t smile,
I once made love to you,
but these days we sleep in separate beds,
I once made up characters with a lot of warmth,
but these days they’re all bastards,
I once made you the centre of my universe,
but these days I only think about myself,
I once made appearances at writers’ festivals,
but these days it's all about blogs,
I once made it a daily ritual to look in the mirror,
but these days the mirror doesn’t want to know.

The Truth, It Lies

A lawyer on the brink of ruin,
a paranoid director,
a dead movie star,
and a picture no one will ever see…
Its 1952 and showbusiness lawyer Robert L Harvey is on the brink of financial ruin. The Hollywood witch-hunt is putting him out of business. That is, until, he receives a call from movie director, and constant paranoid, Michael Bloom. The big shot has misplaced the film reels of his latest project, the star of which has recently died. Harvey thinks it’s a job for the police but the director is adamant he doesn’t want his employer, Mayor Studios, to know their investment is lost. Desperate for the money Harvey agrees, but when he delves into a side of the movie industry he’s never seen before his priorities have to change…
