It began at its birthplace, Columbia University, New York City, in June 2002. In an effort to continuously elevate and innovate the game LatinosStep created the Silk & Smooth Stroll Show. "Silk," as it is currently known, is similar to a chameleon as it manifests itself in many forms and adapts to its environment. The name "Silk and Smooth" is the embodiment of those two quintessential characteristics which every stroller strives for while strolling, the physical embodiment of SILKNESS & SMOOTHNESS. By combining these two elements, a stroll show was born and in its first show encompassed over 16 stroll teams. Silk has since then developed into a national phenomenon bestowing rhythm and synchronized strollers across the land.

Within six months of the LatinosStep acquisition, "Silk and Smooth 2" was rolled-out and labeled by many as the "Infamous" Stroll Show. As of 2004, Silk has gone national tour visiting Houston, Chicago, New Jersey, San Antonio, Miami, San Jose & Los Angeles.
