About Me
RISHAARDIn the winter of 1989, Toronto, Canada met the future of innovative music. Upon immigrating to the Great White North's hip-hop capital, Trinidad-born Rishaard Hyndman (a.k.a. Shamon Harage) immediately began utilizing his already musically influenced lifestyle by channeling his talents through his newfound friend: hip-hop. The perfect combination of lyrical wit, energy and raspiness, Rishaard's voice and style is one of the most distinct in T-dot's large hip-hop community. As a member of Monolith, Rishaard helped to find the independent label, One Rock Records. Together with his crew, he released "The Long Awaited... a six-track EP shattering the boundaries previously placed in the Canadian hip-hop market.
Without a major label or distributor, Rishaard and the Monolith sold over 2000 cassettes and subsequent 12" singles featuring the cuts "Bye D'Plenty" and "At the T.O.P.", made popular, in part, by Rishaard flows. As one of the featured MCs in "At The T.O.P.", Rishaard made his music video debut in September 1998. With their video in rotation for several months on Canada's premier music station, MuchMusic, Rishaard also joined his crew in a number of live television performances and interviews on "RapCity" The Mike Bullard Show and "DaMix" to name a few.
The new millennium saw Rishaard deliver unforgettable rhymes on Peanut Butter Danish" from "The Book of Daniel" and on Karma Sutra from See no evil, Hear no evil album from crew member Dan-e-o, also he delivers on Charisma's debut 12 "Bounce Ta Dis", a back and forth lyric-fest and on M.W.O. of IRS Debut album Welcome to Planet IRS. Later appearing on Brougham Records "Fit For Survival Volume 1" compilation, "Breaking Grounds" did just that, with a bouncy, verbal whiplash, the song established Rishaard a.k.a Shamon Harage as a true soloist. A year later, he followed up with his second solo effort. A smooth head-nodder outlining the mighty Monolith's extra curricular "inhaling/exhaling" activities, "Monolithic Cypher" was featured on Shoreline Records' "Urbnet.com /hip hop mix V1" CD in 2001 and received accolades as one of the CD's main highlights.Rishaard a.k.a Shamon Harage has already had more than his fair share of stage experience, being no stranger to a live audience, it has enablebled his talent to shine on its own and amongst peers.
