About Me
Jevin B’Nai Smith started his quest in the entertainment industry at
the age of 12 years old. He than began DJ-ing and getting paid to DJ
and MC parties for his mothers friends, their weddings, and other
social events with the music equipment given to him by his uncle who
was a well known DJ in Detroit, MI.It seemed at the time as if he had a knack for it, It was in his
blood. No one could move a crowd like DJ Jev. Amazing people more
than twice his age that he knew exactly what it would take to keep
them on their feet, while all at the same time showing his
versatility in music styles all the way from Hip Hop to Rock, from
Rock to Smooth Jazz, from Smooth Jazz to Gospel, and from Gospel to
R&B. Even as a child Jevin loved to entertain people and make them
laugh. He also wanted insure people met their full potential. Jevin’s
passion has always been to make other people stars because he himself
knew that he was a star. So much so that he formed a girl band with
his two younger cousins and little sister who is now signed to his
record label. His girl band performed at local talent shows and
family functions. He is in actuality the originator of Making the
band. (Ha ha ha! No offense Diddy…)Jevin went to Alexander Hamilton a performing arts high school in
Los Angeles. He was in the music academy with various well known
artist. There Jevin DJ’d all of Hamilton High schools functions.
During Jevin’s senior year he would participate in rap battles during
lunch. That was when he met former B2K member Omari who then became
so close to him they were like brothers. Young Jev also worked for
Rhino records in 1998. The experience at Rhino Records confirmed to
him more than ever that music and entertainment was where he belonged
and where he wanted to be. Jevin knew the perfect place to teach
him everything he needed to know, Atlanta Georgia college Morris
Brown. There Young Jev was a music industry major. There Young Jev
DJ’d local college functions to make some extra cash. That craft came
in handy being away from home.
After college Young Jev returned to his home in Los Angeles
California to intern
at 100.3 The Beat for Adimu former host of BET’s Teen Summit who
gave Jevin
the name Jevin the Young Intern who in return taught Jevin all about
radio.
There Young Jev had the opportunity to meet and work with artist
such as
Jon B. Jermaine Dupree, D.J Quick, Angie Stone, Busta Rymes, Method
Man,
Raekwon and Ghost Face Killer of the Wu Tang clan, Music Soul Child
and
last but not least MTV’s La La.Wealthy Jev has also had his feel in television and videos. If you
check back he has been seen on MTV‘s Becoming P Diddy, King Of
Queens, ER, Bernie Mac, All of Us, Girl Friends, Beyonce’s NAUGHTY
Girl video, Ludacris GET BACK, Ushers Caught up a few commercials
and more.Because Jevin lives and breaths music and entertainment and also
realizes he was born to entertain, he started his own entertainment
company,
