With an unconditional love of music and a deeply inspired devotion to the art of DJing, Jason Smith a.k.a DJ Boogie has made everyone from club owners, club goers and even other DJs sit up and take notice. In a time where the focus seems to be on the ‘celebrity DJ’, DJ Boogie’s brings it back to basics as he continues to cultivate and perfect his unique vision of turntablism. At the young age of 12, Boogie became heavily influenced by DJ legends such as Cash Money and DJ Spinna. After scraping together enough money to get his hands on a used pair of Technics 1200s, he quickly went from learning the basics of scratching to making mix tapes. However, growing up in Upstate New York, there was a certain lack of thriving vinyl scene. Boogie had to make his own. “I knew if I wanted to turn my passion into a career,†he explains, “I had to start in my own backyard.†He crossed over into radio on 105.7 Star FM as he became host of the Friday Night Megamix.Boogie soon found himself in New York City, where he continued to hustle and pursue his career. He later signed with DJ Skribbles “Skribbleeno DJ Crewâ€, and Central Entertainment Group (who also represent DJ Skribble, Tommy Lee, etc.) Giving him the stamp of approval by one of the biggest DJ’s ever to hit the scene. Then he began DJing alongside Green Lantern, DJ Enuff, Fatman Scoop and Tommy Lee. He has opened for industry heavyweights such as Jay Z, 50 Cent, and the Anger Management Tour with Eminem. “Coming to New York was exciting,†says Boogie, “I loved the following I built Upstate, but I had outgrown the scene and it was time to expand my wings. Although, it will always be home.â€To date, DJ Boogie has played in the hottest clubs across the country including New York City hotspots such as Crobar, Avalon, Duvet and Spirit. Other club gigs include The Hard Rock Hotel (Tampa, FL), Angels (San Jose, CA), Le Passage (Chicago, IL) and Mixx and MurMur at The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa (Atlantic City, NJ).Devoting half his life to cultivating his talent, DJ Boogie’s passion for the art of DJing becomes apparent as he plays each gig. He continuously adds to his bag of turntablist tricks as he captivates audiences of any age and size. Whether a small club in his hometown, or the biggest hotspot in a trendy casino, Boogie is clearly a DJ who does it for the love of the music and moving the crowd.FOR MORE INFORMATION/BOOKING CONTACT:
