About Me

Physically: I'm a tall, hefty guy with long red hair and a beard (which is in desperate need of a trim *chuckle*). Personality: I'm fairly laid back, and a bit of a homebody, although I'm almost always up for trying something at least once, unless I have a serious, rational objection to it. (Not many of those, though.) As noted on my basic info, I'm currently working retail, and in the process of making myself get back to my schooling. I enjoy most anything, but I'm really a nerd at heart with a particular weakness for sci-fi fantasy, humour, and video games along the same bent. Terry Pratchett is a perfect example of a good afternoon for me.

My Interests

Video Games, Sci-fi/Fantasy, Humour, Documentaries, conversations on philosophy theology and ethics, etc.

I'd like to meet:

Friends

Music:

U2, Linkin Park, AFI, System of a Down, Aqua, Most Classical, Classic Rock. *shrugs* I'll try anything once. As my Grandfather once said to me, "My favorite is whatever I'm listening to at the time."

Movies:

Mostly goofy sci-fi flicks like Serenity, although I also enjoy comedies and the occasional documentary. I'll watch horror movies and do like them, but they're usually far from my favorite. Although I also enjoy MST3K-ing exceedingly silly or bad movies to pass the time.

Television:

Anime and sci-fi (are we noticing a bit of a trend here?), historical documentaries, Good Eats, Iron Chef/America, DiY programs, and whatever random movies are on HBO or Showtime this week.

Books:

As mentioned before, I'm in love with Terry Pratchett's work. Other authors I follow or have been meaning to follow are Jared Diamond, Jon Stewart, Christopher Rowling, Tolkein, Piers Anthony. Basically if it's humorous, informative, or just plain weird, I'll probably get my grubby little paws on it at some point or another.

Heroes:

I don't really have heroes from the view point that all humans are or were fallible, however I do admire Einstein (as trite as that may sound) as well as many others who have made contributions to science, but would be remiss if I didn't counterbalance their brilliance with those who have the courage to pose the ethical questions as to whether or not it truly is in the best interests of the world to introduce certain technologies. Have we figured out that I'm a dove yet? *laughs*
