I was given a special gift from God eight years ago and I have not let go of Pete since. I probably would have met Pete sooner or later due to the fact that we were attending the same concerts, clubs and outings before we finally met at Sam's Club. On the one year anniversary of our first date together, we were married.
As in any marriage, there were issues typical and atypical that tested the strength of the vows we took. We have always rolled with the punches thrown at us. We all know the vow that says "in sickness and in health", well I would always be the one that was sick and Pete would never see the inside of a doctor's office for his own health until recently. About a week after our six year wedding anniversary, Pete was diagnosed with leukemia. Deep in my heart I know that he is my soulmate, therefore I will stand by him through this cancer.
