About Me

I like people. I like meeting new and interesting people with original and revised opinions. ( Because let's face it...no one is entirely original) I love staying in touch with longtime friends too. An old friend once told me that we could all go through life surrounded only by people we get along with, but we wouldn't learn anything. I welcome the chance to share and learn with everyone. I'm not shy. I believe in communication and it's powers to dispell myths and solve problems. I'm a bit of an idealist but i'm not without personal barriors. It's unfortunate fear, hate, and judgement are still being passed out as family values. I want to help change that.

My Interests

Above all else, my family comes first. Aside from them, I enjoy my computer time, sleep, art, music, conversation, movies, merlot, comfortable shoes, good fitting jeans, tv, having fun. I love spending time with my friends. I enjoying tasting new foods and trying on different cultures.
Your Brain's Pattern
Your brain is always looking for the connections in life.
You always amaze your friends by figuring out things first.
You're also good at connecting people - and often play match maker.
You see the world in fluid, flexible terms. Nothing is black or white. What Pattern Is Your Brain?
Your Theme Song is Beautiful Day by U2
"Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away"

You see the beauty in life, especially in ordinary everyday moments.
And if you're feeling down, even that seems a little beautiful too. What's Your Theme Song?

I'd like to meet:

I like anyone with enough self respect to treat others the way they would want to be treated. I like people who are honest, witty, and not boring. I don't like mean people.

Music:

Music keeps me sane...especially while driving. If I get cut off and I'm enjoying my tunes...that driver is having an emergency, i need to get out of their way. But if the wrong song's on...I might as well be stuck in traffic. I'm a huge Natalie Merchant fan. I loved her with 10,000 Maniacs also. Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beatles, Hole, Blink 182, Ataris, Killers, Cranberries and basically anything that makes me feel good.

Movies:

I love chick flicks...The Thing Called Love, Circle of Friends, Emma, Mansfeild Park, Pride and Prejudice (with Colin Firth) Empire Records, Sense and Sensibility, Pretty in Pink, Pretty Woman, Chasing Amy, Terminator...these are some of my favorites. But sometimes nothing beats a good violent film...Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Hostel, Texas Chainsaw (original), Halloween, House of a 1000 Corpses, It, Terminator...these i can't watch by myself. And then there's nothing better than a good laugh...Dumb and Dumber, Napolean Dynamite, Ace Ventura, Clash of the Titans, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Terminator...these always make me laugh. And since I don't read much, if it's a really good book, it'll be made into a movie.

Television:

Because I lack imagination...thank goodness for television. I love to watch T.V. ---I like the food network, travel channel, movie channels, comedy central, channel 10 news and Jeopardy at least 3 times a week. I miss Sex in the City, Melrose Place, Dynasty, Dallas, and Facts of Life. But I'm currently enjoying The L Word, American Idol, Real Sex, both seasons of Rome, and Jeopardy.

Books:

I wish I enjoyed reading. I just can't seem to find books that will hold my attention. I must lack imagination. My favorite book is Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. (Judy Blume) That pretty much sums up my intelligence.

Heroes:

My parents. My mother for raising 4 kids while my dad was working. She was always trying to put the fear into me so I wouldn't get into trouble. She did the best she could being from another country and not knowing the language or culture. My dad is the best provider. The risks him and my mother have undergone to secure their childrens' future are nothing short of miracles. No matter how little I think I have, they had 100 times less. And no matter what a failure I may see myself as, I know they are just proud of me for just being alive to make choices they never had. I'm the luckiest person in the world. (Did I happen to mention what kickass grandparents they are?)
