Ted Stinson: The Soul Leech Project

About Me

I've been playing guitar since the mid-90's and singing as long as I can remember. I can play many types of music and I like most genres. I have a hard time pinning down my style. Most of my music is dark -even the happy songs.
My original vision was like a soundtrack to Edgar Allen Poe, H.P. Lovecraft, H.R. Giger, Dali, a mushroom hallucination, and a sattelite orbiting the Earth. I released a CD through MP3.Com that was a hybrid of electronic music and more traditional sounds. These days, between work and family, I follow my muse.
If the player doesn't load, refresh your browser. I notice it sometimes takes two or three hits for the damn thing to load.

I'm tired of Soul Leech "Unplugged".  As soon as myspace has it's technical issues taken care of, I'll be rotating in at least two tracks that are a little more groovin'.  Also, I'm thinking...

Thanks, Mary

For some reason, I got the itch to write poetry instead of a witty picture or hello.  I guess family gets a little extra once in a while.  Then, I read the piece and not only did it not seem...

Updates

I swapped out a couple songs and added in As God Looks On and Angel's Song.  You may now notice a theme to the tracks.  There really isn't one.  It's mostly metaphor. As God Looks On was...

Sunshine

I've swapped Space out for Acid Tongue.  This was one of the earliest of the recordings I did for the Soul Leech LP.  I was listening to a lot of Depeche Mode, KMFDM, and Lords of Acid while...

I rotated Godless and Space into the player.  I hope you enjoy them.  Godless is making a encore presentation.  It's from my solo acoustic period of work.Space is the closing track from...

Songs in Progress

After a short sabbatical, I've began to write more songs.  I've got two that are more or less finished and a few more on the backburner.  After I get caught up, I'll record the whole batch a...

Without Shirt, I Am

It's a parody of a Danzig song.  A joke.  We kid.  It's a song that Tom from Underwhelm and I recorded a few years ago.  He did the vocals, lyrics, and inspiration.  I covered...

New Old Song

Dying To Live was uploaded last night. I recorded it in 1999 and released it on MP3.COM and out of the trunk of my car. It's the first "good" song I wrote and dates back to around 1997. (As a side ...

It's no secret that ambition bites the nails of success

I joined a prog/rock/metal band last month. I've been devoting most of my creativity toward it, so I'm not currently working on Soul Leech material. I'm trying to get my metal chops back up to par a...
