So this is what it feels like?

About Me

I have been listening to house music for quite sometime now. My pops used to spin house music in the 90's, and played in bands all his life. In fact, my parents met when he used to play in the clubs in the 70's. Music is just in my blood. I moved to New Orleans when I was 17 or 18, and my best friend Gina introduced me to house music. I have never looked back since. I have her to thank also as one of the reasons I am a DJ today. My affair with hip hop only started about 7 or 8 years ago, and I love to play it, but house has my heart. I have been living in Philly for about three years now, and have been playing out for about a year and a half. Before that, I lived in New Orleans and played drums and piano in a band called Random Thought. I moved back to Philly for a girl that broke my heart ( isn't that always the way it goes? ), and now my first loves are my turntables. I came up here with every intention of finding another band, and even played at Black Lilly, Sister Space, and a few other shows still behind the drums. Then I decieded to put down my sticks and try the DJ thing for awhile. I always loved to dance and listen to House and hip hop, but now I wanted to be the one to make the crowd move. I think it was the best choice I have made. I still love to play drums and piano, but I found a new home behind the decks. I really appreciate the art form of spinning records and refuse to play anything else except vinyl (even if my back is aching at the end of the night). So now I would like to start trying to make the tracks themselves. I am new at this, and I have alot of work to do, but I am having a great time. I am really sick of waiting tables, and would love one day for music to be my full time job. I have been getting more and more shows in Philly and am starting to travel now, and the response has been great, so hopefully I am doing something right. As long as I can make people dance and have a good time, at the end of the night, I'm happy. But getting paid for it is even better..... .. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- START BZOINK.COM SURVEY CODE --

Of course, they're quite aware they're darling - Leos will be Leos, after all. They generally know their limit, probably because they loathe losing self-control. When they get over-refreshed, expect flirting to ensue -- and perhaps not with the one who brought them. But Leo's not the type to break rules even when drunk, so just try to ignore it and expect a sheepish (and hung over) Lion to make it up to you the next day. From Phillystylemag.com..... She's A Barbie Girl. Forget Skipper or Jem. Last Wednesday night I had the pleasure of attending Rosie Kim's Modern Barbie Fashion Show. While climbing the stairs up to the Bamboo Lounge, I was immediately drawn in by the beats of DJ Just Jess, who put everyone in the mood for the very glam, high-energy show that followed. WRITTEN ABOUT ROSIE KIM FASHION SHOW ON 3/28.
