I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I work for the man... that's right, the big corporate man. And I hate it. If you know me, then you know what I'm about. If you don't know me my interests pretty much explain it all.

My Interests

Mostly... art and music. Family, speaking my mind, educating myself, trying to understand everyone's point of view, body art, colors, juxtaposing words images and whatnot, social politics, being the best/ coolest mama I can be, Poster Art (oooh, Russian Propaganda), Halloween, seeing as much of this rock we call home as I can, fixing it even when it ain't broke, knitting, reading, Homies, Duct Tape and the fascinating things you can make with it, not math, bubble tea, bellydancing.

I'd like to meet:

Respectful, intelligent (sometimes even unintelligent) people from all walks of life. Anyone who might open my eyes to new things (or old things that can be seen in a new way).View All Friends | View Blog | View Pics | Add Comment

Music:

Punk (the old stuff Ramones, Misfits, Dead Kennedy's etc.)...Rockabilly/Psychobilly...Metal (especially epic, Luca Turilli is a god)...Hardcore...Bluegrass...Some Hip-Hop...Not Country...Roots Rock Reggae...Old School Rock & Roll...Artsy-Fartsy stuff (like radiohead, beck, Sigur Ros, Ladytron)... I'll listen to anything at least twice and have a tendency towards things that don't sound like every damn thing else. Occasionally it's good to hear a band that actually knows how to play their instruments.

Movies:

I absolutely love David Lynch. Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead...all of it. I like a lot of other things too. Amongst my favorites: Anything John Waters, some (but definitely not all) Tim Burton he really disappoints me these days. Those cats from Monty Python are pretty funny. Cheesy horror movies are always good. I really dig Waking Life, Dancer in the Dark, Super Troopers, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Wallace & Grommit, Donnie Darko

Television:

That black box in the corner? It doesn't have any channels.

Books:

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, Grapes of Wrath (and any other Steinbeck ), Jennifer Government, 1984, The Hitchhikers Series, Naked Lunch, The Junkie, A Good Scent from A Strange Mountain, Animal Farm, The Complete Edgar Allen Poe, The Meaning of Liff, The Sound and the Fury, Tolkien (not for his writing, but for his imagination), Clockwork Orange, The Jungle, The Dictionary, Maus I & II, I also like biographies, and books about social theory, a good ghost story is fun every now and again.

Heroes:

Shepard Fairey, Kathe Kollwitz, George Orwell, John Steinbeck, Wonder Woman, anyone who's ever changed their mind for the better
