Darius Morland A.K.A.(Dthedragon)A.K.A.(Dagon-the son of Death)was born on March 6th, 1976 in Dayton,Ohio. Dthedragon's impoverished urban upbringing in Lorain, Ohio led him to attend high school across the streets from the projects. Like many young kids at the school he vowed to get away. As a young student Dagon was talented at basketball and football and saw athletics as his ticket out and as a way to help his Mother. In Football, Dthedragon tried out for the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys at the 1999 NFL combine. He was set to sign with the Browns before a serious leg injury put him out of contention. For many guys such a set back would be devastating, but the Dragon had always been interested in entertainment and music from an early age, so his exit from sports suddenly (but not so suddenly) transmuted into music. As a child, Dagon was highly influenced by rap groups such as Gangstar and Public Enemy. In 1994 Dagon was introduced to the music of the Wu-tang Clan and Sunz Of Man. Their grimy yet positive style changed his whole outlook on life. The music gave him hope and strength to survive the rough cold streets of Lorain, Ohio. Dagon sensed that the Wu-tang Clan was more intelligent than most Hip Hop groups and that they actually were starting to uplift the minds of the people. Perhaps the aspect of Wu-tang clan that really stood out for Dragon was the metaphysical message behind the music. Wu-tang helped clarify that life's true mission is to make the world a better place for everyone. In that vein, Dagon has plans to build homeless shelters, Boys and Girls clubs and provide support for battered women - issues that are very close to him, having seen witnessed battered woman syndrome first hand in his own home.In 1997, at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio, Dagon himself was homeless. As he became closer and closer to the Wu-tang philosophy, it opened him up to the world and allowed him to see things for what they really were. Dragon credits the result of such a negative upbringing and life in abject poverty as an inspiring time for him. The outside struggles forced him to use his inner resources, inspired by the philosophies of Wu-tang clan, resonating with his unique creative abilities. With this, he created a receptive environment for the meeting with the 5% nation and the Wu-tang family and had the vision to do an Ol’ Dirty Bastard Tribute titled "Nasty Boy."With his move to Hollywood in 2001, everything that had been manifesting in his mind finally came to light. Discovered by D.W. Bonner and Cathy Jones performing freestyle rap in a hip hop club, it literally made his dream come true. Cathy Jones at the time, was the owner of "Threat Records" (the first label of the Wutang affiliated group "The Sunz Of Man". In 2006 Dragon hooked up with G-Clef Da Mad Composer, CEO of the Wutang affiliated online record store/label "ChamberMusik", and good friend of "The GZA" and Brooklyn Zoo's "Buddha Monk." Through ChamberMusik and North Stars's Christ Bearer he was introduced and accepted by the West Coast Killah Bee family. His long anticipated solo EP album featuring Wutang MCs Christ Bearer, Dungeon Masta, Warcloud and ChamberMusik CEO G-Clef along with Pifstar is a classic Wutang banger (Hollywood Style.) He has also recently created a comic book/clothing line "Stankin" inspired by Dthedragon and Marvel Comics artist Thomas Baror. With his Wutang Blessing coming straight from the lips of Lord Buddah Monk (Leader of the late Ol' Dirty Bastard's" group Brooklyn Zu"), his unique Wutang tatoos covering his face and his creative, yet aggressive style of rapping, Dthedragon is quietly becoming one of the new faces, of the Wutang EvolutionWATCH WUTANG CLAN FAM'S DTHEDRAGON AND THE LEGENDARY SOLOMON CHILDS LIVE INTERVIEW AT CHAMBER MUSIK STUDIOS/WITH BONUS FREESTYLE FOOTAGE.A DEFINITE MUST SEE !
