CHICCOKiko Lalonde-(Chicco Parisi Lalonde) Bass Born in Camogli, September 27, 1972, Kiko started to play music at the age of 9. At age 15 he began to play electric bass guitar with maestro and composer Marco Tindiglia, studying the Berkeley method of jazz. It was only later that he started his career as a performer with the flamenco band, Fandango playing his first concert in front of 7000 people at the renowned festival Un Palco Sul Mare in Rapallo Italy. In 1992, Kiko formed the band Impronta Latina. His name spread quickly in the national panorama as a skilled and versatile player and in 1993 he was called to record the album Tribe with the cult band
band Sadist. and recorded the album TRIBE. This band would then take him throughout all of Europe touring and performing for the next 4 years. In 1994, he recorded the video clip for MTV Europe and VIVA TV entitled "Sometimes They Come Back" and later, recorded the video "Tribe". In 1997, Kiko participated in the recording a compilation album dedicated to Iron Maiden
alongside with bands such as; In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Therion,
Armageddon. Steadily through the years, Kiko continued touring and performing
alongside international bands such as Carcass, Blind Guardian, Cannibal Corpse,
Samael, and more. Leaving Sadist in 1997, Kiko had many opportunities to perform and record all different styles of music, including acid jazz, funk, pop, rock, fusion and blues. It was in then that he began to dedicate the majority of his time to the study of classical music as a double bass virtuoso. At the Conservatorio Paganini Genova, Italy, Kiko studied under Franco Pianiggiani the first double bass for the Monte Carlo Symphony Orchestra. To complement his studies, he also participated in a workshop under the direction of Peter Magg and Karl Martin. In 1999, he was the first double bass for the Chamber Orchestra "Ensemble du Mediterranee" based in Marseilles, France. With them, he toured extensively throughout
Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria. In 2002, Kiko moved to Seville, Spain to focus on his flamenco studies. Later in the year, he re-located to Canada performing the 2003/2004 season with the Victoria Chamber Orchestra in Victoria, BC. Also in this time, he performed freelance with various bands and classical ensembles. In 2004, he has returned to perform flamenco with the maestro guitarist Oscar-Jose Garcia at the Timms Center for the Arts in Edmonton and has recorded for songwriters such us Corey Woodward and LostRepublk, Corey, SoniCa, Sean, Bio-VitaminiC(AcidJazz), LuMiaSaBor (NewFlamenco) and cooperated with Shawndel(Country), K-tels(Motown), Thomas Alexander(Jazz,Funck,Soul), Steve Hoy(Fusion), Freezen(ROck), Benjamin Barrile(Flamenco) and many other in Canada, US, and Europe.
