If you're wondering why it's so quiet in here, I just kicked the radio to death.

About Me

Rather than ramble on about what I think of myself, I decided to condense my "About Me" into a single minute and a half long video clip. If this meets with enough objections from friends I'll change it back, but for now, here's a summary of me (Minus a lot of 'damns' and the HAM radio bit).

Dr. Ron Paul cured my Apathy!

My Interests

Racing quads.

Designing quad related stuff.

Saving money so I can build said quad related stuff I designed and race it, which doesn't happen because racing quads is damned expensive.

Yeah, and there's other crap I'll do, but I warned you about asking me about quads.

I'd like to meet:

Since Kari is now hitched, I needed to add as single woman to my "Want to meet" list.

Yes, Angel Atwell races that quad.

Yes, she is very fast.

So what if she's animated!? She could save you money, and has hot pink hair!

Music:

Hey, I finally got around to adding my damn music interests!

Electronic Dance Music:

Tiesto
Armin Van Buuren
Paul Van Dyk
Ferry Corsten
Mauro Picotto
Suzy Solar
Carl Cox
Micro
DJ Icey
Kid Icarus

Local EDM:

Sikora
Section 8
Ideal
Sid Reflux
TKitty
Zyntax Erra

Punk Rock:

Guttermouth
NoFX (Before they decided to try to grow up)
Operation Ivy
Rancid
Screeching Weasels
Lagwagon
The Exploited
Pennywise
Cockney Rejects
The Clash
Teen Idols
Goldfinger
Orange 9mm
Bad Religion
Sex Pistols

Metal:

Slayer
Metallica
Godiathaith
Gorefest
Pantera
Dead Horse

Then there's the general poppy crap...

Movies:

Given my low regard for Hollywood's poorly veiled attempts at shoveling San Fran-sicko values down my throat, as well as celibrities and their asinine antics,I find movies about actual people and events of greatest appeal:
The Pursuit of Happyness
Dust to Glory
Tucker: A Man and his Dream
The World's Fastest Indian
Pirates of Silicone Valley
The Right Stuff
Walk the Line
Ray
The Aviator
I'm still a little on the fence about The Aviator. While Howard Hughes was certainly an interesting character, research I did on my own revealed a great deal the movie left out or told out of sequence. Besides, Leonardo DeCaprio is too short to be Hughes.
Series:
Star Wars
Indiana Jones
James Bond - (The Sean Connery years, and the new guy)
Back to the Future
Pirates of the Carribbean
Lord of the Rings
Other:
The Blues Brothers
1941
The Kentucky Fried Movie
Dr. Strangelove - (the bomb ride)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Galaxy Quest
The Matrix
Blade
Blue Max
Where Eagles Dare
The Great Escape
Kung Fu Hustle
They Live
Kelly's Heroes
Shaolin Soccer
Dog Soldiers
Near Dark
Anime:
Fullmetal Alchemist
Naruto
Robotech

Television:

I never get to watch TV any more. Ha! Who am I kidding? I'm on the couch all the damn time now! I can piss away a whole weekend on the TV if I've not careful. God, I've got to get the quad thing happening again.
Anyway, I did think of a few things to put here. I used to be attached to the Speed Channel when I had it, before going to digital cable. Losing that was a small price to pay for my then-roommate to never force me to watch the Sci-Fi channel again. I remember the World Ralley Championship was the hot show on Speed before the swtich. For a while it was Cartoon Network as well with some Adult Swim shows. I have to admit anime is a guilty indulgence of mine.
Recent stuff would be:
Mythbusters
My Name Is Earl
The Simpsons
Scrubs
The Family Guy
Seinfeld
House
Antiques Roadshow for some odd reason
The War
Frasier
Many moons ago I used to really be into Mystery Science Theatre 3000, but that was back in the Joel days. I saw two episodes with Mike and didn't like them, but moved and lost cable before I could give Mike a chance.
Am I the only person who remembers "The Tick"?

Books:

They're all too technical for me to bother posting, unless you're dying to read about turbochargers, two strokes, and suspension design. Otherwise, I might as well be illiterate because I can't focus on anything for more than a minute.

Heroes:

Howard Hughes
Jack Northrop
Kelly Johnson
Preston Tucker
Burt Rutan
Wilbur Wright
Orville Wright
Wil-E-Coyote
Every Nut Who Competes in the Red Bull Flugtag

Is it strange for an off road guy to be inspired mainly by airplane builders?

So I havent set myself on fire yet

The steady popping of the Mig welder was a satisfying sound that told me I had it set up close, if not perfectly, for what I was doing. After wrestling with a dirty feeder (nothing a bit of carb clean...

The jump I wrecked on.

Some video I found of the jump I wrecked on. Doesn't really do it justice from a distance, but you can see a few bikes going up it (the first jump, not the half pipe, though I do that too). Notice how...
